Approximate dimensions: installed, it's 23 5/8 in (60cm) long and 15 3/8 in (39cm) tall ('tall' means the length from the top of the bracket to the bottom of the longest utensil). The distance from the wall to the outside of the largest utensil is approximately 3.75 inches (9cm).

It attaches firmly to the wall with drywall anchors (they were included) through holes pre-punched in the center of each of the two brackets. The bar can slide in the brackets at time of mounting, but after installation the bar is held very firmly in the brackets. The screws that were provided were a slightly different color of steel from the bracket and bar, so I substituted stainless steel screws that I bought at the hardware store.

The apparatus is very well built of heavy stainless steel.

All-in-all, it's a great device and we like it in our modern kitchen. The design is clean, neat, and understated. My wife spent a great deal of time looking for something like this and she says this is the best she could find in terms of price, quality, and design.
