From Children's Software Revue® -- "Subscribe Now!"
This upgraded edition of the kid-friendliest basketball sim features ten pint-sized NBA pros like Shaquille O'Neal, Vince Carter and Kevin Garnett. There's also 30 neighborhood ball players ready to shoot some hoops. Like the original, kids pick their favorite players and uniforms, choose a court and control all the action. Mini- games let kids practice their skills, which is good, because in-game play requires quick dribbling, accurate passing and aggressive shooting. A little practice goes a long way, and kids can quickly jump into the action, playing a single game or an entire season. Stats are kept, game play is fast-paced, and humor is ever present via fun characters and commentary. As with past versions of this program, this is a fun program, and a great way for kids to learn about the game of basketball. Note that a PlayStation 2 version of this program is also available, with even more features.Copyright © 2001 Children's Software Revue

4.0 out of 5 stars good, July 27, 2004
A Kid's Review
It isn't the greatest game out there but it is definitly a good way to pass the time. You can choose your own players, become a champion and even play a few mini-games to sharpen up after a break. It can be as bad or as good as you make it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Baackyard basketball 2004, December 30, 2003
A Kid's Review
I think this game is really good. People say this is too easy but i am 11 and I play on hard mode and I lose sometimes It is deffinetly better then the first backyard basketball because the originial only had two pros and this has ten. This game has good pros and good pro selections but they could have had better people as well like Steve Francis, Baron Davis and Kobe Bryant. Some of the people in there have not very good attributes like Tim Duncan has no outside shot but in real life he is a good outside shooter and Pau Gasol has no outside shot but can make all of the three pointers he shoots. Making a shot is very easy from outside but inside shots are kinda difficult. This game has the same graphics and gameplay as Backyard Hockey which I like the gameplay but the graphics i don't like. I would reccomend this game for 5-12 year olds and if you want the ultimate team I would pick Tracy McGrady, Dirk Nowitzki and Tim Duncan as starters and reserves Yao Ming and Paul Peirce. Other than the bad graphics and the choosing of the pros and pro's attributes this is a very fun and good game.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best!, November 3, 2003
A Kid's Review
This is the best game I ever played! It's much easier to make 3-Pointers, so you can have a better chance at winning. I got this game the day it came out. I have loved the Backyard Sports Since Backyard Baseball back in 1997. I love any kind of Humongous Entertainment game. This game has all new players, like Dirk Nowitzki, Yao Ming, Vince Carter, and many more. This is THE FUNNEST Backyard Sports game ever!
