Biography

New Zealand-born Daniel Bedingfield grew up in southeast London. Mostly influenced by contemporary R&B artists, his sisters Natasha and Nicola teamed up with him to assemble their first band, called the DNA Algorhythm. Inspired by a girlfriend from Leeds, Daniel Bedingfield recorded "Gotta Get Thru This" in his bedroom with a microphone plugged to his home computer. In December 2001, just a few… Read more in Amazon's Daniel Bedingfield Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, August 22, 2003
By A Customer
From countless dance numbers (Gotta Get Thru This) to rap-in-context wonders (Blown It Again, Right Girl) and chart hits (If You're Not The One, James Dean I Wanna Know), this album is one to add to your collection. Everyone wants something different for their listening tastes, right. Buy this and it will fulfill all your listening pleasures. This disc has a nice variety from slow and mushy ballads (hence If You're Not The One which is currently climbing and falling on the Billboard Top 50) to dance floor feet-movers (Friday, Girlfriend). This special edition from the UK includes two bonus tracks (Never Gonna Leave Your Side and Right Girl) which are both brilliant, and also three acoustic tracks new to the UK edition (acoustic versions of Gotta Get Thru This, James Dean and If You're Not The One). Another fantastic track in mention is I Can't Read You. Its not getting too much applause, or when it was released (March/April 03) I should say. Well actually it's my favorite track of all. It has a nice acoustic flavor to it, plus a bit of that addictive garage pop. Some fillers include He Don't Love You Like I Love You, Honest Questions and Without The Girl. These can be nice for long road trips when you listen to the whole LP over and over (or is it just me?!), but otherwise skip them. Some people really enjoy them, so it might just be my taste. Another favorite many people have is Inflate My Ego. I really dont care for it, just mainly because it's repetative fast-moving lyrics make it sound almost, in a way, identical to Gotta Get Thru This. Well just because these tracks aren't the best don't make this disc rotten. The other 12 tracks have enough potential to each be singles (which 5 of them are!). I hope you enjoy this disc as much as I did. Skip the US version and get this nice Special Edition import! It really is tons better. Happy listening!
