Biography

As early exponents of horrorcore, Three 6 Mafia have been accused of relating their name to the number of the beast, though the accusation of Satan-worship is something that band members have always disputed.

American hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia were formed in 1991 by DJ Paul, Lord Infamous and Juicy J, later joined by Koopsta Knicca, Gangsta Boo and Crunchy Black.

5.0 out of 5 stars Three 6 Taking Back For 2003, June 25, 2003
By "pizzlemanizzle" (Pittsburgh, PA United States) - See all my reviews
After more than 3 years since their last album and more than 2 years of waiting on a new one, The Three 6 Mafia finally drop Da Unbreakables on the world. I been listening to this non stop since I picked this up at about 7 o'clock. Lets start with the production-FIE! Nothing but top notch tracks from Paul and Juice (2 of the best producers in the game today). The best beats are from "Ridin Spinners" and "Bin Laden". The lyrics-Paul and Lord shine over all as usual. Juice has really improved. After hearing some of the verses he dropped on Lil Wytes album and the Paul solo, I was beginning to loose hope for him but he came strong on this one. Crunchy still does his regular stuff-simple rhymes and short bars. BUT it works for him, not too many folks can pull that off. The guests-Pimp C from UGK is on a track. Funny thing, his verse was taken from a La Chat song. And from what I can tell Chat is no longer with the HCP camp (makes me happy, always hated her). Lil Wyte is on a handfull of songs, along with Project Pat. I'm assuming they took verses he recorded earlier and were never used. Pat also recorded a phone call from prison that comes on before his song. Something that made me real happy with this-Paul and Juice finally responded to T-Rock and all the junk he's been saying. Although they never say him by name its pretty evident who they're talking about.
Hottest Tracks
-They Bout To Find Yo Body (Great intro to this talking bout the artists Three 6 put on and now diss them)
-F. That S. (Classic Three 6 hook on this on, it gets you rowdy with quikness)
-Testin My Gangsta
-Bin Laden
-Ridin Spinners (although I liked the original version much better with Lil Wyte)
-Lets Start A Riot (Paul speaks on T-Rock and its a great beat)
-Dangerous Posse
-Outro (Paul and Juice never dissapoint me with there outros. I'm gonna keep listening to this for a while, always good for a laugh)
If I could change one thing about this disk-put Boo and Koopsta back on. I know and understand why Boo left but Koopsta?! They never even talked about that so I'm assuming he either had personal problems or he left and they have no beef, which is good.
Pound for pound-this album is great. Not as good as When The Smoke Clears, but real good. The only song I'm not digging too much is Ghetto Chick. Any Three 6 fans out there-PICK THIS UP! We been waiting years and its finally here. Now I'm just waiting on the solo's and Cashing Checks. HCP Fool.

5.0 out of 5 stars They still got it, June 24, 2003
After a long wait and numerous delays, the biggest question was whether Three 6 Mafia's new album would retain the same quality they have always had. Though not their best album, Da Unbreakables is definately worth a wait and a must for any Three 6 Mafia fans. Overall it has more of a "club" feel than their other albums, but this isn't a bad thing at all because the songs don't get repetative.

They Bout To Find Yo Body - Introduction song of all the members
F*** That S*** - Catchy song, club feel
Wolf Wolf - Crunk style bass, good song
Testin' My Gangsta - Another song with a club feel, upbeat
Bin Laden - Typical 3-6 style, one of the best songs on the album
Ridin' Spinners - Good song
Try Somethin' - Another really good song with Project Pat
Money Didn't Change Me - Slower song with piano line
Ghetto Chick - Another slower song, IMO worst song on album
Shake Dat Jelly - Another catchy song
Let's Start A Riot - Another good club song
Rainbow Colors - This really good song has a very Southern feel to it with it slowed down and 'screwed' a bit.
Like A Pimp (Remix) - Not a remix of David Banner's song, but of Like A Pimp off of Juicy J's album. Either way another good song
Beatem To Da Floor - Nice beat, good song
Put Cha D. In Her Mouth - Really nice beat, one of the best songs
Mosh Pit - Another club song, nice beat
You Scared Part II - Good song, typical 3 6 style
Dangerous Posse - Really good song with everyone from HCP
