Product Description

Amazon.com

Audiovox's affordable D1830 features a broad, eight-inch widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) LCD, and compatibility with DVD-Video, VCD/SVCD, audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3-encoded discs. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's coaxial digital-audio output for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver.

Composite-video and stereo analog-audio inputs and outputs let you hook up additional AV gear for viewing through the D1830. All audio and video inputs and outputs are of the minijack .125-inch size, so compatible adapter cables are required (one stereo analog audio and one composite-video cable are supplied).

S-video and composite-video outputs simplify hookup with a home TV. If you don't have a surround receiver or six-channel speaker setup, you can still make every movie night the ultimate experience: Q-Surround Sound simulates surround sound through two speakers or headphones. Playback options include frame-by -frame slow motion, zoom (image magnification and reduction), multiple angle viewing (with applicable discs), and 20-track programmable sequencing.

The D1830 comes with an AC adapter and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides up to three hours of playback (power consumption depends on the operations of the player, such as screen brightness, volume level, etc). Other supplied accessories include a user's manual and a remote control. Headphones are not included.

What's in the Box
DVD player, remote control, battery for remote control, user's manual, stereo analog audio interconnect/composite-video cable, AC power adapter, rechargeable battery pack, vehicle power adapter.

1.0 out of 5 stars Failed when called upon, August 29, 2003
By Jeff R. Zimmer (San Diego, CA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Uplugged the battery from the charger, packed in the carry on, went to use in in the 3rd hour of 6 hour flight to entertain my 3 year old girl, DVD loaded, hit the power switch, nothing happened, doublechecked everthing, but had to explain to a 3 year old why she couldn't see Pocahontas because the new DVD player was broke. (still works with AC though)

4.0 out of 5 stars This one works, April 21, 2004
By D. Roggenkamp (South Dakota) - See all my reviews

I received this unit as a replacement for a D1830 which I received that did not work. The replacement D1830 works great plays just about every type of dvd or cd. The screen is very good as well as the ease of use.The speakers wihout headphones are not that good, however for a portable dvd unit it may be as good as you could expect. It does not have as fastforward or rewind, which makes it unhandy when you switch off the unit. It has all the necessary accesories which make it handy for all types of veiwing. I recommend the Audivox D1830.
