Entertain the masses at home with this massive 56-inch rear-projection HDTV monitor. The Zenith R56W36 offers 1080i and 540p resolution modes, an enhanced HD lens system (with a 4-element lens), 16:9 aspect ratio, and built-in rear carrying handles for easy movement of the set.

Most HDTVs use upconversion of analog signals (line-doubling) to simulate an HD picture, which introduces artifacts that appear as pixilated scenes due to digital conversion. With the R56W36's advanced digital display, these picture artifacts are nearly eliminated. Also, the automatic HD Focus system eliminates the need to manually adjust the picture. Simply select HD Focus from the onscreen setup menu, and 16 sensors automatically adjust the picture from center to edge in 10 seconds.

The Cinema Correction 3:2 pulldown function detects and synches film--which is shot at 24 frames per second (fps) compared with video's 30 fps rate--to video for a smooth theaterlike experience at home. Other features include picture-in-picture (PIP), picture-outside-picture (POP), and trilingual menus (English, French, Spanish).

Its three A/V inputs include composite video with stereo audio, two of which also have S-video (with one of them located on the side of the cabinet). It also has a high-res component-video (Y, Pb, Pr) connection. The included universal remote can control up to four devices in addition to the R56W36 TV.

purchased unit 6 month ago and I am happy with hd and digital picture. Analog pictures from my cable provider leaves something to be desired. I am going to get an extended warranty when the regular one runs out.
