Simple, stylish, and impossible to shatter, the Oneida Astrid collection of serveware and barware has a thoroughly contemporary appeal. Crafted from 18/8 stainless steel--18 percent chrome for corrosion-resistance and 8 percent nickel for sheen--the line is both durable and beautiful. Its softly glowing, brushed finish never needs polishing, and the pieces have a substantial but not excessive weight.
Anything but fussy, this pair of Astrid salt and pepper shakers adds a bit of adventure to simple seasoning. Constructed with generous proportions, the pieces feature faceted tops that create planes of soft reflective light. The large "P" and "S," formed by the shaker holes, have an understated wit and a liberal capacity. Easy to grip thanks to their brushed finish, the shakers stand 4 inches high.
