5.0 out of 5 stars color card is goooooooooood!, January 3, 2007

What to say about Gretag Macbeth? They rock the photography world, and color management.

Good quality, it comes with good packaging so that you can travel with the device without messing up the color panels. The reflective quality is excellent. The various levels of grey make it really easy to use with C1Pro, and Photoshop. If you're a pro photographer you need this. It also comes with some really cool tips and tricks, and has great info printed on the card back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Macbeth tablet extremely useful, January 9, 2007
I use the Gretag Macbeth Color Checker as a color calibration aid when taking photographs. I also use it to check color calibration on my HP scanner. It is an extremely high quality color standard, featuring a realistic range of colors and has proven to be very useful!

5.0 out of 5 stars Why so expensive?, August 24, 2008
When you see it it is self evident that this is not some mass printed card.

There is a reality we live with. Right now digital cameras can take in far greater color information than our monitors can show us. This is like "play" in a steering mechanism. You don't know exactly what that setting means. Somewhere between viewing and printing ($$$) you need to get a grip on actuality.

Simply getting red right might badly maul everything else. But having a color card attuned to 24 natural colors (those are not just random colors) gives an opportunity to tune your system to reality.

In a slightly untuned system the card will show WRONG colors. So shoot the card in any serious work. Cheap insurance.

4.0 out of 5 stars MATCHING MONITOR WITH PRINTER AND SCANNER
One of the quickest ways of geting some degree of control between scanners and printers to match the view on the monitor. Most trouble comes from having the monitor too hot. Read more
