Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

This 25-pack of 4x DVD-R discs consists of write-once, single-sided discs that store up to 4.7 GB of data and approximately 240 minutes of video (depending on your mastering software; 120 minutes optimal)--that's more than six times as much data as will fit on a recordable CD. You can transfer your home movies from VHS or 8mm cassettes, back-up computer hard drives and large files, or stuff them chock full of MP3 music files and JPEG image files from your digital camera. A one-year warranty protects you against defects in the near term, while the discs' rated archival life of 70 to 100 years means you can rest easy about the future of your data.

What's in the Box
25 DVD-R discs, 1 two-piece storage case, and a paper insert with product details.

5.0 out of 5 stars So far so good, November 10, 2003
By A Customer
Using these disks with Optorite DD0203. When you receive the spindle, it says that you have to upgrade your DVD writer firmware to the latest one available by your manufacturer otherwise you might have problems. I've upgraded to firmware 2.16 (have to download from http://www.optorite.com/firmware.htm). I used the dos version upgrade, but you can use windows version too.
I wanted to order DVD+R disks instead of DVD-R but somehow messed up the ordering so I ended up with DVD-R. I've read that DVD+R have better compatibility with standalone DVD players so I was pretty worried that these won't play in your DVD player. I was suprised to find out that they play even in ancient standalone players. No problems with compatibility. So far I've burned around 10 DVDs without any problems at 4x. I used multiple programs but prefer Nero 6.0.

4.0 out of 5 stars Usually a great disc, December 14, 2003
By A Customer
I have burned 400 of these so far and had great luck except for one pack of 25 that didn't want to be seen on my sony dwu10a. They did burn on my liteon ldw411s after updating the firmware. Unfortuneately some of them still couldn't be seen on my apex 1100 or my sony dvd player. One bad batch though has not turned me away from memorex as they have been very good so far. If not for that they would be a 5 star product as I have had only 2 bad burns and they may not have been the disks fault but were probably caused by a bad file and a power interuption. If anyone is using a usb external setup and getting a bad burn right after the lead in they may want to consider hooking up their burner internally as this was a problem I had and it cost me a lot of disks to find out that it was a reset of the usb and not the disks or burner. Since moving it to internal I have not had but 2 coasters and they were as said probably not the disks either. Hopefully this will help someone. One bad Batch, but, Memorex still rules lol.

2.0 out of 5 stars Check compatibility with writer BEFORE buying media!
