Superior quality sound, much bigger than the D-AJ03 itself. The D-AJ03 incorporates a highly efficient, low-distortion, lowloss toroidal transformer that provides a powerful yet stable supply of power. The D-AJ03 also features a dual structured speaker cabinet that reduces vibration and improves sound projection, a true 2-way speaker system that includes a high sound quality network, high-quality parts throughout, and, of course, Denon's well-known audio technology. The result is a quality of sound that is much bigger that the D-AJ03 itself and which can amply fill the room.

Detailed Features:

• Digest performance, to quickly check all tracks on an album
  This feature plays the first one and a half minutes of all tracks on a disc so that you can check the flow and content of the album in a short time. At the end of each segment, the music fades before the next track starts.
• Plays CD-R and CD-RW discs, too
  The D-AJ03 also plays original CD-R and CD-RW discs containing music recorded on a CD recorder.
• A wealth of playback and editing functions
  In addition to various CD and MD playback options such as program play (up to 20 tracks), random play, and repeat play.
• 6-mode equalizer
  The D-AJ03's equalizer provides 6 modes: rock, pops, vocal, jazz, classic, and flat. You can choose the mode that best suits the music or your mood.
• Super dynamic bass, to deliver a deep bass sound
  The D-AJ03 includes a super dynamic bass (SDB) circuit that lets you enjoy a powerful bass sound from the unit's compact size. The SDB's bass remains powerful even at low volume levels.
• Mono output terminal
  You can connect a self-powered woofer (sold separately) to the D-AJ03 if you wish to enjoy more deep bass.
• Auxiliary audio input terminal (stereo mini jack)
  The D-AJ03 provides a set of analog inputs where you can connect the audio output of a computer, video deck, DVD player equipped with 2-channel analog output, or other external audio device.
• Easy-to-read LCD color display
• A wealth of timers to suit your lifestyle
  • Everyday timer: Turns the D-AJ03 on or off at a set time each day to let you listen to a CD or radio broadcast. This setting can easily be changed at any time to accommodate a change in daily routine.
  • Once timer play: turns on or off the D-AJ03 at any set time only once in a day to let you listen to a CD or radio broadcast.
  • Sleep timer: Automatically turns off the D-AJ03 in a preset time interval after it is turned on. Settings up to 5 minutes are made in 1-minute increments; settings up to 2 hours are made in 5-minute increments.

I bought this unit for $299.00 in January of 2004, and by mid-July the CD player had stopped operating. Periodically throughout the months the CD player would just quite functioning while in the middle of a CD. Pushing various buttons (with no particular logic to the sequence) usually would get it going again. But two weeks ago, the player just quit for good-- reading
