Of all the magazines out there-this is top of the line!, January 22, 2004
I have reviewed many home school materials for several years and The Old Schoolhouse Magazine rates top of the line with me!From the gorgeous front covers to every page in between ,I am encouraged! Many of my home school questions are answered through the interviews with known authors, publishers and educators to moms -like- me who are not so known. The"Teacher's Lounge Show and Tell" focuses on people from around the world sharing their stories and methods of how home education has worked for them. The "Unit Studies" equips me with ideas for specific subjects and how to make them fun and learnable for my children. The "TOS Art Studio" pages talk about a featured artist and beautiful samples of their art work to study are displayed as well as art helps. There are hilarious articles that help me through tough days, like "Kindergarten Korner" ,to the cartoons that I can relate to on a day to day basis, making little moments more memorable. There are recipes too!And I have never seen so many contests with such exceptional products in any magazine!I feel that The Old Schoolhouse Magazine has so much to offer no matter who you are that it is too numerous to write in this still small space.I highly believe this is a beneficial magazine to subscribe to for yourself and for a gift to a friend who needs it as much as you!(Your in-laws and parents may need a subscription too to understand what you do and support you in all your labors!)

Incredible Homeschool Magazine, December 30, 2003
I have been reading The Old Schoolhouse Magazine for over a year now and am very impressed. After subscribing to several homeschool magazines I've found that this is the most professional and comprehensive magazine out there for the homeschool community. The magazine covers a wide range of subjects, provides excellent advertisements alerting the reader to new products, and includes up-to-date newsworthy items. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this magazine to anyone regardless of whether they are veteran homeschoolers, new homeschoolers, or others interested in homeschooling. You'll not be disappointed.

A "Flu Shot" for Homeschoolers, January 17, 2007
There weren't magazine like the "Old Schoolhouse Magazine" when I homeschooled in the 80s & 90s and did I miss out! Now, I get this magazine just to see what's going on in the homeschool world. Every time a new issue comes out I think, "This is just like a 'flu shot' for homeschoolers."
Each issue is jammed pack with what homeschoolers need to succeed: information, resources, and encouragement. You'll find articles on how to homeschool as well as testimonies of how others homeschooled. Your enjoy using the free unit studies included, learning about famous people to add to your homeschool curriculum, and even provide your children with simple art lessons from the magazine!
Going on a field trip? There's articles about field trips - what to do, where to go, or how to use a field trip as a learning experience. Homesteading? Read articles on topics such as how to make your own soap, how to make your own candles, or practical information for deer hunters.
Whether you homeschool in the city or country, in the US or overseas, in the military or on the mission field, the Old Schoolhouse Magazine has something for you. If only it was around when I was homeschooling!
But YOU don't have to miss out! Subscribe to this excellent resource. You'll be glad you did!
