3.0 out of 5 stars Get Free or Die Tryin' Falls Short, December 5, 2003
By Glen G. Rice (Seattle, WA United States) - See all my reviews
After dead prez's brilliant groundbreaking first album Let's Get Free, the Uhuru duo gave themselves an extremely high standard to live up to, and their latest mixtape unfortunately falls short of those standards. While there are a few dope cuts on here, such as "F&*k the Law" and "O.G (Original Garvey)", the album has a very inconsistent feel to it. The production is lackluster in places, and stic.man and M1 haven't progressed much lyrically from their second mixtape. While I have nothing but love for dead prez and the ideals they promote, this album lacks creativity and doesn't do much to distinguish itself either musically or lyrically. Be sure to pick up Let's Get Free and Turn off the Radio, as for this album, if you're a hardcore dead prez fan cope it, if not while till their next LP, Red Black and Green drops.

Peace
Glen

5.0 out of 5 stars RBG 4 LIFE!!!!, February 23, 2004
By William Hartley Pimble (Long Island City, NY United States) - See all my reviews
I remember back in the summer of 1998 when Dpz spoke at the million youth march In NYC at Harlem. A dose of Dpz is what the world needed, a much change for hip-hop. I like all their previous CD's "Let's Get Free" and "Turn Off The Radio" vol.one. "Let's get free or die trying" is a very good album. "F**k tha law" is very easy to recite and full of energy."Last dayz reloaded" a great track featuring Onyx. "Revolutionary Love" is a hot track, over a bounce beat is hot 2 def. "afrika" is another banger with stic.man teaching geography of all the 52 nations on Africa. A great album indeed. At first listen I thought the production was weak...but the lyrics and their message is deep. I give this album an full fledged five***.

5.0 out of 5 stars Revolutionary Disciples, April 17, 2006

(REAL NAME)
Thank Goodness for Dead Prez to keep us uplifted, inspired and educated through the trail & tribulations bought on by the media and those self proclaimed right wingers. This is a revolutionary hip hop classic. Definately one for your collection. Not since Public Ememy have we had true crusaders on the mike to spit truth & reality. Go Get This Mixtape.
