Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

This reduced-volume version of the classic Faberware kettle caters to individuals or small households, and is perfect for boiling water for tea, coffee, instant soup, or hot chocolate. The familiar pitch of this whistling teakettle calls attention to itself when water is boiling. Traditionally dome-shaped, the 1-1/2-quart 18/10 stainless-steel body carries a polished shine. Contouring to the hand, the U-shaped phenolic handle resists heating for a comfortable grip. A circular spout-cover, made of the same material, easily flips open to cease the whistle and begin pouring. Interior access provided by a wide top opening simplifies cleaning. The kettle base features a flat surface to promote rapid heating. This kettle is dishwasher-safe but the surface may dull over time due to harsh soaps; hand washing is recommended for best results. Farberware’s quality assurance warranty guarantees this product against manufacturer defects immediately after purchase.

Product Description

Made of finest quality 18/10 stainless steel, this elegant kettle will maintain its shine for years to come. It holds 1-1/2 quarts of water and whistles when water comes to a boil.

4.0 out of 5 stars A gem for the price, November 16, 2005

This is exactly what I wanted and for a fraction of the cost at the stores. It whistles loud enough for me to hear in another room and is very attractive sitting on the stove. The only thing to remember is not to leave it near something you are frying because it spatters on the outside.

This is great!!! It not only looks fabulous...but works just as well! Cleans very easily and has a pleasant whistle, not a shriek. Would definately recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great value...., July 30, 2007
By Miss Lou (Metairie, LA,USA) - See all my reviews
I just ordered my second Faberware Classic Charleston Whistling Teakettle. I had my old one for 5 years or so, but didn't take good care of it. I used to put bleach in it, and let it soak to clean the inside. It finally ate a hole in the bottom of the kettle. I should have used vinegar instead, and I'd still have it. It's a great little kettle for 2 people. I needed one with a whistle, because I'm always doing five things at once, and need to be alerted when the water is boiling. I could buy five of these for what you'd pay for the fancy brands with the gorgeous colors. Who needs that....just to boil water? This little kettle should last many years if dried out after using, and cleaning properly. I was very happy to see that this particular model was still available.

I bought a Farberware Kettle. The boiled water had black specs in it. No amount of cleaning ever made it come out with water as clean as went into it.
