Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Cook three dishes at once without the hassle of estimating individual cooking times. West Bend’s convenient digital triple timer features three separate alarms that signal when dishes are done. An easy-to-read LCD screen calculates up to 100 minutes in timer mode and notes the hour, minute and second as an AM/PM clock. Its simple design provides a separate button for each timer for straightforward programming. The alarms steadily beep for a minute, or until the user pushes the on/off button. A memory function also recalls the timer’s previous setting--useful for baking several batches of cookies of canning several pots of jam.

Equipped with a clip, magnet, hanging hold, and stand, the timer conveniently perches on a countertop, hangs from a cabinet hook, affixes to the refrigerator, or clips onto an apron pocket. The timer is powered by two included AAA batteries. For best results, wipe clean with a damp cloth. The timer measures 2.7 by 3 by 0.7 inches, and weighs 1 pound upon shipping. West Bend covers the product with a one-year warranty. --Jessica Reuling

3.0 out of 5 stars A non improvement on a good timer, August 6, 2004
By Randy Remote (Laytonville, CA) - See all my reviews
The model that this one replaces was alot better. It gave three distinct beeps for the three timers. It was simpler to use, and sat nicely on the counter. This one adds a clock-I think most kitchens already have one-and a stop watch that may come in handy. It tips over when you press the buttons, because of the narrow magnet assembly protruding from the back, ironically making it useless as a magnetic timer, and requiring two hands to set. They should have left the design as it was, it was alot better. Edit: less than two years later, the buttons are sticking, not working right. Not very kitchen-hardy. Take off another star.

4.0 out of 5 stars Newer isn't necessarily better, February 14, 2006
By J.B. Cabell (Near San Jose, CA USA) - See all my reviews
The Model 40053 is a good effort, but misses the mark compared to the now-discontinued West Bend Model 40032 Triple Timer, sold in the 1980s and 1990s. I don't need a real-time clock, nor a stopwatch in a kitchen timer, because they just complicate the device.

* Water resistance;
* distinctive alarms for each channel;
* superbright blinking LED secondary alarm indicator for loud environments;
* blinking LCD indicator for each active timing channel;
* shirt pocket size, countertop stability;
* single-hand programmability, and
* memory recall for easy repeat timing

-- that's what I'd like to see in an improved version of the 40032. Perhaps customer pressure can get West Bend to bring something like that to the market.

1.0 out of 5 stars OVERPRICED, April 12, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This item is NOT as good as West Bends old style triple timer....which I loved....and wore out....the buttons are too small and too close together.....and I saw the SAME item AFTER I made my purchase at Wal-Mart for less than 10.00.....one third of the price....I am very disappointed.....
