The Credenza Plug-In Lamp Dimmer with night light is a convenient dimmer for table and floor lamps. The Credenza lamp dimmer makes it easy to turn lights on and off without reaching under the lampshade. Select your light level with the slider; move slider up to increase light level, down to decrease light level. Turn lights on/off at the bottom of slider. Credenza also has a night light that glows softly helping you find the dimmer in the dark. The Credenza Plug-In Lamp Dimmers has its own cord, so no installation is needed. Simply plug table or floor lamp into dimmer and plug dimmer into outlet. Credenza dimmers work with incandescent and halogen lighting and are for use with table and floor lamps that have a maximum capacity of 300W. Installing Credenza dimmers saves energy too! Dim the lights just 50% to save 40% electricity and extend bulb life 10 times. Dim the lights in your family room, nursery, office, wherever you have a floor or table lamp and create your perfect light.

Couldn't be easier to use -- just plug the lamp into it & plug it into the wall. When our son was newborn & we were getting up at all hours of the night, this kept the lights low enough to keep everybody mellow but on enough to prevent broken bones. Both sets of inlaws have now bought these for the guest rooms. Truly, a godsend for new parents.

I agree with everything in the other review as far as this being an indispensible item for new parents. I also used it to turn on the light for midnight feedings so I could keep it low and the baby would go back to sleep. The absolutely noiseless turn off on the dimmer made sure my daughter didn't wake up again at the end of the feeding.
