2.0 out of 5 stars Neat film - HORRIBLE english language track, December 14, 2005
I bought this film hoping that it would be as enjoyable as "Morozka" - or the Snow Maiden which has a great re-dubbed english language track. (My children - ages 2-6 love it) The Golden Horns is a great film - but the english track is AWFUL! This film is NOT voiced by english speaking actors. Instead the script is read by a non-native english speaker - a russian man with a very heavy accent. This narrator makes no attempt to add interest to the film - just reads the script in a very monotone manner. A terrible shame - because this is a great russian film. It would be worth buying if they ever re-do the english track.... but for now it is just too annoying to watch in english. If you can speak russian - you will enjoy the original language track. A great folk tale - but please... re-do the english track!
