5.0 out of 5 stars More Sonata Arctica - Never Enough, August 29, 2004
For every Sonata Arctica fan, this review is totally unnecessary, because you have every SA CD you can find (and if you do not yet have Takatalvi, BUY IT!). But, I am writing this review just in case (i)you are still "just beginning to appreciate" Sonata Arctica music, or (ii)"you" just happenned upon this CD. Takatalvi is not exactly SA's latest effort at a studio CD (it's coming soon!!!), with its unique mix of covers, but it is quality Sonata Arctica, nonetheless: It Rocks. While not exactly "obscure" (check out Space Odyssey's "Embrace The Galaxy" CD, and my review of same), Takatalvi is already one of my favorite SA CDs, even after only a few days in my CD rotation, and it is worth every one of the 5 stars. Buy it, and see if you agree. Long live rock.

5.0 out of 5 stars There's Always Winter Time in Finland...Even When It Is Summer...It Is Called...Takatalvi!!!, September 6, 2005
OK, there's four seasons in Finland: spring, autumn, winter, and takatalvi. Only joking...it is summer but it lasts only about 2 months (22nd June - 22 October usually). Takatalvi is the winter coming back again...it lasts only some days...not usually even week. Just when you thought the winter has gone and the snow has melted...it's snowing again. Taka = back, talvi=winter.

About this album...
This album starts with the great song "San Sebastian" which was originally released in "Successor" EP (2000) and later the new recorded version in "Silence". I have to say I like origially version much much more than Silence's version. Revisited version is great but originally is even better! It has greater feeling...revisited version was more rock less metal.
"The Gun" is a great song. It was released with "Dream Thieves" in "Broken" single. They are very aggressive songs and you may not notice them as Sonata Arctica. Actually I wasn't even sure myself when I first heard them. "Dream Thieves" is so fast. It is a great song in the gigs although I have heard it live only once. "What makes you think you won't burn in Hell?" (Dream Thieves). "Still Loving You" is a great Scorpions cover...hate or love it but it is much more aggressive than the original version. "Shy" is a ballad and the "part 2 of Letter to Dana". "I Want Out" is a Helloween cover...you can find these three songs in "Successor". "Fade to Black" is a Metallica cover...much more peaceful than original one. It was release in "Victoria's Secret" single. "Broken" is a great live track. It is one of my favourite live songs. It was great to see it in this EP!!!
