Tastefully clad a two-tone paint scheme and reasonably diminutive at 7.3 pounds and 1.6 - 2.7 by 13 by 10.9 inches, the VAIO PCG-K17 is a stylish and comfortably portable unit. The system is driven by a high-end 3.06 GHz Pentium 4 processor and a capable alloent of 512 MB DDR SDRAM memory. The video card, an ATI Radeon IGP 345M, is not the pinnacle of 3-D gaming or 3-D animation performance, though it does support dual displays for those times when two monitors are necessary. I found this Sony model on a 1 day sale at Fry's Electronics store. Liked very much, seemed to have all the features I wanted, quickly shopped on line and found their price was by far the lowest, so bought it and have been completely satisfied..flawless operation, the brightest display, that doesn't dim down when on battery operation, can't fault anything about this laptop and for the under $2000 class is easily the best performer... I paid a lot more for my previous laptop and the Sony PCG-K17 does it all for less money
