5.0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest releases this year!, July 7, 2004
I see this excellent album as the successor of real classics such as "A Brazilian Love Affair" by George Duke (1979), "Salongo" by Ramsey Lewis (1976) or "Happy People" by Paulinho Da Costa (1979). Like "Brazil Chill", these albums contain brilliant mixtures of American style Jazz-Funk and Brazilian rhythms as well as melodies and vocals from the largest Latin-American country, which delivers the most wonderful folklore music on this planet. For anyone who loves Latin flavors and Contemporary Jazz, this is the most important release of the year!! I would give "Brazil Chill" 10 stars if I could even though 5 is the maximum!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is Baldwin's most Creative!, May 23, 2004
By Theresa Saudade (Kansas City, Mo.) - See all my reviews
Baldwin has a body of work. This is his 10th. Each effort is creative AND innovative. This is Baldwin't sexiest to date. All you people hating on him who want his new album to sound like his previous, give it a rest. The boy is growing. Heck, he might put out a Christmas Record next!! Everybody back up and breathe!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have!, September 30, 2004
An amazing CD! If you're looking to get away from your daily grind, listening to "Brazil Chill" will wisk you away causing you to forget where you are and truly believe that you are on the beach in Brazil! Take a mental vacation and buy "Brazil Chill!" It never leaves my stereo!

4.0 out of 5 stars Original sound
I have several of Bob's recordings. I like the direction he went with this project. Very different sound than prior recording. There is a heavy latin influence here. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Better-than-average smooth jazz
OK, the entire sub-genre's pretty hurtin', but this strikes me as one of the better offerings. I detect some real soulfulness in Baldwin's piano playing (Joe Sample is an apt... Read more
