5.0 out of 5 stars Great Gaming Monitor & LCD TV, August 23, 2004
By 1st (New York City) - See all my reviews
It's great for gaming with a PC via DVI or a XBox via component video inputs. I saw no ghosting while playing Far Cry, UT2k4 or Doom 3 @ 1920x1200. With a 16ms response rate, the LP2335 plays games just as good if not better than traditional CRT monitors. At 3 feet, you can't see any LCD grain or artifacts. The sharpness and 3D sensation from Hi-Def 720p & 1080i material is exceptional. Virtually no delay in action sequences. The amazingly bright whites & blacks are very true for a LCD. Much better than my Apple 23" Cinema Display (M9178LL/A) at work or my friend's Samsung 243T. With it's pivot capabilities and its numerous adjustability options this monitor should please even the most demanding. Thank you Hewlett-Packard.

Pros: 16:9 widescreen format; 16ms response time. DVI, VGA, S-Video & Component HDTV video inputs; Picture-in-Picture; Integrated power supply; Pivot capabilities (swivels to portrait mode).

Cons: Not HDCP enabled; No remote control.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better Than Apple 23" for less money w/longer warranty!, September 28, 2004
By New York Photo Pro (Cleburne, TX (South of Ft. Worth)) - See all my reviews
This monitor is singularly the best I've ever owned. I was looking for a new LCD to replace my aging Sony Trinitron. I wanted something to work with my G4/450 Macintosh (Sawtooth) with a Mac Radeon 9000 Pro card in the AGP slot. The Mac Radeon card has a DVI connector and a native resolution of 1920x1200. However, I didn't want to pay $2,000 for the Apple 23 inch LCD, new version or older version. I found the L2335, checked all the specs with HP and MacMall, but neither could confirm that the display would work perfectly with my setup. When MacMall said they'd take it back if I had a problem, I decided to risk it. What a stroke of luck!!! Not only does it work flawlessly, it is actually the exact same display, with the exact some features, specs and components as the Apple 23 inch (without the aluminum frame, of course) and it costs $1,580 at MacMall ($420 less than Apple's) and comes with 3 times Apple's warranty! The price is less here too but not as much of a discount as at MacMall (are you listening Amazon?). But with 3 years parts, 3 years labor AND 3 year ON-SITE, this is a no-brainer for anyone wanting an Apple 23 inch but who doesn't want to pay the Apple tax.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best value for 23" widescreen LCD flat panel, September 17, 2004
By Kakaroto (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
For $1700 (or less), this 23" LCD screen rocks. The screen showed no noticeable ghosting when watching fast motion video or playing action games. Texts displayed on screen in 1900x1200 resolution are *crystal clear* when using DVI-D cable connecting to ATI 9600XT. 8 pt fonts are easily readable. The quality of images and texts displayed is as good as the Samsung 243T and the Sony 23" screens I saw at Fry's.

Futhermore, this screen has the necessary scaling controls for displaying various resolutions that do not conform to 16:10 aspect ratio. Yup. If you need to play games in 4:3 aspect ratio modes, this screen can fill the screen and retain the intended aspect ratio. This is one feature I could not find on the Samsung 243T and Sony screens at Fry's. (The only 23" screen at Fry's that has this scaling option is the HP F2304 which is the more expensive sibling of L2335 with built-in speakers).
