The Legend of Guqin featuring 9 tracks of traditional Chinese music performed on the guqin by Shan Kiu. She is accompanied on the album by the Daya Academy conducted by Nai-Chung Kuan. As is the case with the recent releases from the FIM label, The Legend of Guqin features a hard cover album package and liner notes that comes with a plastic slip cover. It's a very elegant packaging of the album. FIM owner Winston Ma says that this new Multichannel Super Audio CD is in a league with his company's SACD of "River of Sorrow" which is well known for its sonics among audiophiles. According to Ma "The immediate reception of this new album is just phenomenal.
