WOW!!!, August 20, 2005
I've only recently become aware of Terry Reid. I was watching "The Devil's Rejects" and really liked the songs on the soundtrack, not knowing that Rob Zombie used 3 Terry Reid songs. I picked up the soundtrack and after listening to it ad nauseum for weeks,I decided to try to find some Terry Reid stuff. Boy am I glad I did! "Seed of Memory" has not left my CD player since I got it. EVERY SONG IS GOOD. There is not one song on this CD that I skip over. I play it over and over and over again obsessively. I just wish I was around when his music came out initially. I'm 29 and "Seed of Memory" was released the same year I was born (1976....a GREAT year!LOL!). Why can't today's music sound as cool as this?

An absolute classic...his best album!!!, June 18, 2004
By A Customer
God bless Terry Reid! This album, the follow up to "River", incorporates so many musical styles, Funk, Country, Jazz, soul "whatever".... into a seemless perfect album.
An album that finds our Terry in great voice (as usual) with his, often ovelooked, guitar skills in great shape too. The inclusion of a pedal steel via Al Perkins, adds so much to the overall feel and depth of the this great album. Finally those harmonies, where Reid is joined by his old buddy Graham Nash,..."Phew" stunning to say the least!! I could go on and on. PLEASE,just go and buy the album already! Like NOW!!!

Reid & Nash hit the bullseye on this , February 15, 2005
I agree with the previous reviewer. I bought this CD last week and can't stop listening to it: no weak songs or filler, enjoyable from beginning to end but with some high points that really hit the mark and take things beyond an ecstatic level. I had never heard of Terry Reid until "The Driver" album which I picked up by chance at a garage sale. That (Trevor Horn Produced) album was excellent but "Seed of Memory" is even better. In fact, 3 of the greatest songs ever written by anyone (all 8 tracks are Reid Originals) are on this album: "Faith To Arise" "Seed Of Memory" and "Fooling You." And not only are those 3 compositions great but their performances by Reid & Nash & company couldn't be better. If those 3 songs weren't available here, I would be willing to pay over 100 dollars for them. What does the album sound like? Mellow Country Rock with an edge or the greatest Crosby, Stills & Nash album they never recorded. Reid sounds like both Crosby & Stills at times and with Graham Nash singing harmonies and producing, most people who hear it will ask you: which CSN album is this? A MUST-HAVE for anyone collecting lost gems of vintage 1970s rock.
