4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, January 16, 2005
Initially, I couldn't get my Dell Inspiron 8600 with internal Bluetooth to discover the PocketMouse. After several attempts, I moved it further away from my laptop (about 3 feet), and it paired the first try. I haven't had any troubles with it since. I didn't install any software; it just worked with XP SP2.

As was mentioned by another name, the "PocketMouse" name is somewhat misleading; this mouse is much larger than a typical notebook mouse. It's a bit smaller than a standard desktop mouse.

The materials quality is good; the buttons have a good feel, and the mouse has some heft (contributed mostly by the two AA batteries, which surprisingly are included). My only minor complaint is with the scroll wheel: it's not a smooth scroller, and it takes a little more effort to click than I'd like.

There's no on/off switch; the mouse turns itself off after an inactivity period, or when the paired computer shuts down. Inactivity is determined by the optical sensor, not a motion sensor, and a button click is required to turn the mouse back on, so it's probably safe to carry it on an airplane without removing the batteries.

5.0 out of 5 stars This mouse is great!, August 20, 2004
I bought this mouse about a week ago and I have to say that it is the best wireless mouse compared to others of equal size. I am a PowerBook user that has built in bluetooth, and as such the computer recognized the mouse after I paired the two. More or less, I didn't even touch the manual because setup is easy. All I have to do now that the computer and mouse are paired is click the mouse and it is recognized. The battery life is astounding as I have yet to change the batteries that came with it after constant use over the past week. The tracking is great and MacOS X takes care of the rest. This is a mouse for people that have bluetooth enabled computers and like to travel with a small mouse rather than a Logitech or Microsoft behemoth.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good., August 2, 2004

I just got this mouse a few hours ago so I will have to update this review in a month or so but so far it is great. Free shipping from Amazon and a bit pricey for a mouse but on the lower end for a bluetooth mouse at this point in time. I am running Mac OS X 10 and set up was a breeeze, it took a matter of seconds. I like this mouse because it has two buttons and a scroll wheel which you aren't going to find on an Apple branded mouse. Comes with batteries and a short book on how to set it up but not any software or bluetooth adapter so only buy it if you already have bluetooth on your computer. So far, so good but I will update if this changes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great mouse
I love the blue tooth feature of this mouse. The biggest problem is that it lacks an on/off switch so you have to remove the batteries before storing in your notebook bag.
