Live Acoustic, December 31, 2004
This is a raw, beautifully done live collection by Sarah Mclachlan. It's only Sarah, her piano, or her guitar. At first it came as a bit of a surprise, but after a few listens it's become one of my favorites of hers. I just love it.
Fallen: Really well done. Sarah uses her voice in amazing ways here. Even more of a tear-jerker than the original. "Though I've tried, I've fallen."
Adia: I've never heard Adia like this. Used to the background vocals and the whole band, at first this seemed kind of empty to me. But Sarah pulled it off, yet again-this will hit you right in the heart. "We are all innocent..."
Angel: Angel is meant for Sarah alone. This is just proof of that. This is the best version I have heard of Angel ever-it's just heart-tearing, gorgeous. "In the arms of the angel, fly away from here."
Building A Mystery: Like the toyota slogan-"wow is too small a word." Sarah gives this such a great edge. "Yeah, you're working, building a mystery."
Answer: Need I say a thing? THIS is the Answer that moved me to weeping at her concert, the Answer that makes your body go weak and shaky, the Answer that really is the answer to everything. Turn the volume up and let it move through you. Oh God.
"When the stars have all burned out you'll still be burning so bright. Cast me gently into morning, for the night has been unkind." --Answer

Sarah's best live CD to date!!!, August 4, 2005
I'm really glad I bought this CD. Every song is superb...
Fallen is wonderful, her voice resonates with emotion and the music is an enchanting accompaniment. Adia is one of her stronger versions. Even without the usual background vocals, she pulls off the song with her voice and piano accompaniment. Angel is by far my favorite version. The words just seem to touch your heart and her vocals are amazing. Building a Mystery is very strong. Again, her voice and the emotions she evokes touch your heart.
Answer, my absolute favorite on the CD, is AMAZING. I think it is better then the original CD version. I play it over and over again in the car, etc. The lyrics are superb and her performance is on point! "Cast me gently into morning, for the night has been unkind. Take me to a place so holy, that I can wash this from my mind." - I love, love, love this song!
I'm sure you will love this CD if you enjoyed Mirrorball. My only complaint is that it is way too short.

Sarah Live & Acoustic, November 26, 2004
I'm a relatively new Sarah fan and i can't seem to get enough of her music. The emotion in Sarah's voice is very rearly experienced in this era and ita good to know that there are genuine artists still out there
This live acoustic cut is made up of 5 tracks, 3 from her smash album "Surfacing" and 2 from the incredible "Afterglow" Some may say that they've heard these tracks one too many times and that its not worth it , but let me tell you, you'd be missing out. True 3 of these tracks have beens heard numeous tmes, but not like this.
The intimicy of these songs is shown more with the absence of numerous instruments and more focus on Sarah's amazing vocals, raw and only complimented by the piano music.... Trust me it is worth the buy for any diehard Sarah fan and newcomers alike.
My only complaint is that she could have included one or two songs from the wonderful "solace" album. A song like " I will not forget you" would have been perfect here... Other than that.. its a great EP
