The Audiovox CD530MP ups the ante on traditional shelf systems by playing MP3s in addition to prerecorded audio CDs and self-made CD-R and CD-RW discs. Listeners can search for specific MP3 tracks by file name or album, or they can program up to 64 MP3 songs to create their own soundtrack for parties and other get-togethers. The CD player also includes a programming mode, along with repeat and random functions and extensive search options. In addition, the system offers a digital AM/FM tuner with 20 station presets and a timer that lets users turn the system on an off at a specific time. The latter feature is great for people who don't own separate alarm clocks, or for folks who hate missing their favorite radio programs.
