Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Maeve is a collaboration of three individual artists - Courtney Reid, Rachel Taylor and Rollyn Zoubek - blending together their own distinct voices and styles to create a cohesive sound rich with harmony reminiscent of the Indigo Girls and Crosby, Stills and Nash. Recorded in Nashville and produced by Phil Madeira, "the simple and the wonderful" is maeve's debut recording. The record includes ten original songs and one "tip of the hat" cover song by Julie Miller, an artist who's writing has greatly influenced all three members of the band. The songs are a serendipitous blend of acoustic pop, jazz and folk with Americana touches provided by producer Phil Madeira on Hammond organ and lap stele guitar, Byron House (nickel Creek) on bass, and Brian Owings (Patty Griffin) on drums and percussion. 1. Angel voices that take your breath away. The first time I listened to this album I wondered why I haven't heard about this group earlier. I'll be watching for more from Maeve

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!, March 22, 2006
I actually had the pleasure of meeting Maeve back in the beginning of '05. They are friends of a friend who invited me to her church coffeehouse where they were playing. I was instantly hooked from the first note. Their voices by themselves are absolutely beautiful, and their harmonies are incredible. They have an amazing gift! I recommend all of their CDs to anyone who loves good music. You can go to their website www.maevemusic.com to find other CDs (and this one for a bit cheaper). You can also find them at www.myspace.com/maevemusic. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars tight harmonies, August 1, 2006
If you are a musician, you will love this group and this cd. The musical style run from jazzy/spiritual style to ballad, to rocky. These women's harmonies aren't predictable but yet are incredibly smooth. I guarantee they won't bore you. Each of these three women has a gifted voice and amazing talent on their instruments. Every musician I show their songs too wants to sing them.

By the way, I don't know these women. I first heard them about 4 months ago. I've let friends borrow the 1 cd I bought because almost every song on the cd makes me think of someone whose life would be better for hearing the song. They understand women especially well from young single women, through married women with kids, and to older women. Their words just speak to you.

This is one cd you won't regret buying.
