5.0 out of 5 stars Intellectual horror, May 26, 2008
This is horror for intellectuals. People who want non-stop violence and gore are going to dislike this movie. People who like The Ring and Rosemarie's Baby will probably really appreciate this movie.

I thought it was really creepy. The acting was great. The plot was interesting (similar to Rosemarie's Baby though). The ending was freaky.

Overall it was a really good horror flick.
Check it out.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Blessed" = Huh???, November 2, 2007
By Brendan2k5 "Aurabolt" (Boston, MA USA) - See all my reviews
You'll be scratching your head when you finish watching this movie, no question. The fact that the entire movie is predictable should be enough to give it a 1 star rating but I gave it 4 stars simply for the fact that the characters' dialogue and conversations most wouldn't dare touch in this day in age.

Let's get the obvious out of the way: It's predictable and is in no way scary. This movie is hands-down the most random film I've ever watched from start to finish. Throughout most of it, it doesn't seem like the film knows how it's supposed to play out. Heather Graham's character sports has the stereotypical blonde personality and is so overdone you're hoping she dies giving birth at the end.

Perhaps the only real surprise in the movie is I didn't expect Graham's chracter getting a neutral ending. It's not happy since she witnesses her offspring's (twin girls) demonic powers firsthand at a halloween party and it's not bad since she isn't possessed by her unborn and must be stopped by any means neccessary. Overall, I'd say there was bad acting on everyone's part.

I'd say rent but pass on buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was ok...but fell flat., November 3, 2008
If this movie was meant to be in the same vein as Rosemary's baby, it could've been done better.

At moments, it was very eerie and gave the viewer that same slow, dawning creepy feeling that Rosemary's Baby did.

But then it would fall flat and never delve deeper into any of the scenes or the characters behind the plot. I think it should have. (Like maybe feature more scenes of the old man and if he had a group, focus on some gathering scenes with all of them, etc.)

It could've been fleshed out more.

Heather does the best job she can, though, so she saves the movie from being unwatchable.

Some minor gripes: VERY FAKE pregnant bellies on all the women and the camera didn't bother to hide it well?!

The main character being pregnant with twins would've had a MUCH BIGGER belly!

The main character moved waaaaay too agiley and quickly and laid flat on her back in a lot of the movie.
You can't lie on your back for very long when you are heavily pregnant, plus it's actually dangerous to do that.

Like I said, they're minor gripes, but would've helped if these points were better.

1.0 out of 5 stars This deserves no stars.
One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Completly unscary, absurd, trite, and badly produced. The DVD has zero extras, not even english subtitles. Garbage.
