The gold Star-18 is a computerized instrument developed and manufactured by the original inventors of the electronic gold tester. This instrument is very efficient and inexpensive. In just seconds, the Gold Star-18 determines the following gold values: 8, 10, 14 and 18 karats of yellow/red, green and white gold. The results are viewed in karats and European standards on the correspondent LED. The tester defines gold filled, gold plated materials, and base metals as "not gold" and tests and identifies objects made of Platinum. It is battery operated and uses one nine-volt alkaline battery (included).
