1.0 out of 5 stars OBSCENE VIDEO IN DISGUISE!!, September 14, 2008
By moenation (Somewhere over the rainbow) - See all my reviews
I purchased this video hoping to show it to a high school life skills class. From the description, I thought it would cover all the topic I wanted taught. (Checking oil, changing tires, etc.) When looking at the cover of the box, you have a typical mechanic, but when I received this in the mail and turned it over, the mechanics on the back cover were young, handsome and WITHOUT SHIRTS! Now, I know, you might think, what is the big deal? I also thought, "Ok, maybe we can look past the guys without shirts and still get the knowledge we were looking for, so I popped the DVD in for a quick preview. It got worse! As the narrator is talking in a seductive voice and making sexual connotations, the camera is always zooming into the lower back or lower abs of the half dress men.
I just don't understand why something that we all need to know has to be made in such a perverse way. And, why do they deceive us by putting a typical mechanic on the front? I do realize some ladies out there might like this type of DVD, but it should have a better description and pictures so I would not have waisted MY money.

1.0 out of 5 stars worst car care video I've ever seen, July 30, 2006
By a (massachusetts) - See all my reviews
I have watched many car care/repair videos. Unfortunately most are a bit outdated so I was excited when a local library got in this recent one.
I was appalled to see them jack up a car without sticking something under the wheels to keep the car from rolling. I saw it a bit ago so I can't remember the other stupid things there were- but that was my main impression. I felt the library should pull it from the shelves - as the guys on the dvd weren't doing things safely/intelligently.
I really would like to find a recent good video/dvd. My favorite is Last Chance Garage, but it is a bit outdated(I don't know if it has been updated). I wish pbs would bring back that show- the (last chance garage) video is amazing.
