Th history the Boeing company has routinely and effectively applied design technology from bomber aircraft to commercial aircraft. The 377 Stratocruiser is simply a commercial translation of the Boeing C-97, a large plane once used by the US Air Force and a tanker. The Stratocruiser, with its double lobe fuselage and pressurized cabin could accommodate 52-60 passengers. For long distance flights, almost half of the seats could be converted to sleepers earning the Stratocruiser the name ""Flying Hotel."" Mechanically
