About the Author
Stanley I. Greenspan, M.D., clinical professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at George Washington University Medical School and Chairman of the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders, is a practicing child psychiatrist, founding president of Zero to Three: The National Center for Infants, Toddlers and Families and a supervising child psychoanalyst at he Washington Psychoanalytic Institute. A recipient of the American Psychiatric Associations highest award for child psychiatry research, Dr. Greenspan is the author or editor of over 100 scholarly articles and chapters, as well as 35 influential books.
Ira Glovinsky, Ph.D., is a practicing psychologist specializing in children with bipolar patterns of mood dysregulation and their families. He is engaged in clinical research in the area of early onset bipolar disorder. He coordinated a Early Intervention Program for preschool aged children with severe behavior problems in a childrens psychiatric hospital, and is founder and Clinical Director of The Village Educational Center in Beverly Hills, Michigan, a therapeutic preschool for children with regulatory disorders.
