Product Description

Amazon.com Review

The power tool pros at Black & Decker venture into the household utility room, lending their expertise to creating functional and dynamic irons for garment care. The Quick Press Iron replaces the S530 model for efficient steam pressing for a range of fabrics. Lightweight, the 1200-watt iron endears itself to users with its soft grip for ergonomic comfort while pressing.

The steam iron features a nonstick soleplate that applies even heat to fabrics while sliding with ease. The iron offers variable steam patterns, including spray mist and steam surge, for effective wrinkle removal. For filling the tank with water, the iron comes with a pouring cup. With a pivoting cord, users maneuver the iron freely. To clean the soleplate, wipe the warm surface gently with a soft cloth and white vinegar, then wipe the vinegar and starch build-up away with a clean damp cloth. Do not use steel wool on the soleplate to protect its nonstick coating. As with any electrical appliance, read the enclosed warnings and safety guidelines prior to use. The iron weighs 3 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

All this, plus a handy range of features like a translucent water tank, handy fabric guide and temperature ready light

5.0 out of 5 stars For 13 bucks, this iron is a steamin' machine!, March 29, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Black & Decker AS75 Quickpress Iron with Variable Steam and Nonstick Soleplate (Kitchen)
OK, for this price you're getting a relatively small iron. But it's a real iron. Much bigger than a travel iron.

Anyway, I needed a spare iron for quick de-wrinkling sessions at my girlfriend's place. (I live out of a duffle bag when I'm there and she doesn't own an iron!) I own a top-o-the-line B&D iron which I love, so I went for this inexpensive "younger cousin."

Bottom line: I recommend it. Once it gets going (a couple of minutes tops), it really whoooshes out the steam! I fill it up, crank it up, and use it for Dockers and Timberland cotton shirts. The steam blows through so well I only have to do one side! It's a time-saving wrinkle killer!

As for finesse jobs on other fabrics, I couldn't tell you. But for hammering out wrinkles in cotton, it's great. I recommend it and it's so inexpensive, you can't go wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light Iron does wonderful job!, October 17, 2005
This review is from: Black & Decker AS75 Quickpress Iron with Variable Steam and Nonstick Soleplate (Kitchen)
I purchased this item based on the reviews. It really is very very light. I was suprised at how quickly its heated up and ready to go and how quickly it cools down and can be easily stored. Its design allows the heated part of the iron not to touch when you set it down and it also acts as a wrap for the cord. The steam is great and powerful. It comes with it's own water pouring cup for steam too. Very satisfied!

This review is from: Black & Decker AS75 Quickpress Iron with Variable Steam and Nonstick Soleplate (Kitchen)
there is no auto shut-off,there is no off/on control at all, just unplug or plug in.On positive side makes great steam and does have non-stick soleplate. The fabric select dial is very difficult to turn.I got it for my sewing room,it takes care of my needs there, didn't pay much for it,so guess I got what I paid for.(Friday Sale 9.99)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price
It's not the best iron, but it works well. It has a rotary heat setting selector just below the handle. My gripe with it is that it clicks very loudly. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for small things.
I got this mainly for the reason of ironing my pants for work, nothing else. And it's great for that purpose. Other wise, it's nothing to write home about.
