Product Description

From the Manufacturer
The Kodak Easyshare One is a new digital camera designed as much for sharing pictures as for taking them. It gives people extraordinary control over how and when they share pictures, whether on the LCD screen, online, or as prints. The camera is truly first-of-a-kind, with the ability to hold up to 1,500 favorite pictures for instant display on its crystal-clear, high-resolution, 3-inch touch screen display; direct picture e-mailing and online album viewing via a wireless connection to Kodak Easyshare Gallery (formerly Ofoto); and the capability to take high quality still pictures and video. No other digital camera gives people such extensive ability to take, organize, share, and print their pictures.

The extra-large swivel screen of the Kodak Easyshare One
The Kodak Easyshare One's huge, rotating 3-inch LCD operates using touch-screen technology.
Kodak designed the Easyshare One camera specifically for sharing. It incorporates multiple benefits that avid picture sharers could only dream of until now, including the following:

Online and e-mail picture sharing without a computer, using a direct, wireless connection to the Kodak Easyshare Gallery service (formerly known as Ofoto). By connecting to the Gallery through a compatible home network or public hotspot, people can upload the pictures and videos for near instantaneous electronic sharing with friends around the world.

The Kodak Easyshare One stores up to 1500 photos
The Kodak Easyshare One holds up to 1500 pictures on its 256MB of memory. It's a veritable hard drive that syncs to your PC-based picture collection and allows for handy sharing.
On-the-spot sharing of up to 1,500 favorite pictures, synchronized with a person's PC-based picture collection, thanks to a huge, 3-inch, high resolution, rotating LCD touch screen that’s protected when not in use, plus a generous 256 megabytes of internal memory. In addition, when connected wirelessly to the Kodak Easyshare Gallery, Easyshare One owners can also view thousands more of their pictures stored online, including albums shared by their friends and family.

Significantly enhanced ease-of-use for picture sharing and taking, including the ability to create on-camera albums in which to store pictures, intuitive menu options with touch screen selection, automatic organization of pictures by date taken, and even richer, graphical scene modes to help get the best possible picture in a variety of outdoor and indoor environments.

The Kodak Easyshare One's wireless capabilities
The Kodak Easyshare One features one-touch wireless printing when used with the Kodak Eashyshare Printer Dock Plus and the included Kodak Wi-Fi card.
One-touch, wireless picture printing when used with the Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock Plus and Kodak Wi-Fi card.

Pictures with professional-quality color and sharpness, with the use of a renowned Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon 3x optical zoom lens (36 to 108 mm equivalent), a 4-megapixel sensor, and the exclusive Kodak Color Science image processing chip.

TV-quality video taking and sharing, with built-in 30 frames-per-second motion and sound recording, plus the ability to share those videos via the Kodak Easyshare Gallery.

Like all new Easyshare digital cameras, the Easyshare One is compatible with the new Imagelink print system. By placing the camera on an Easyshare printer dock or other photo printers compatible with the Imagelink system, people can print their pictures in as little as 90 seconds at the touch of a button. And, with the Easyshare printer docks, people have the built-in convenience of rapid camera battery recharging and one-touch picture transfer to a connected computer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally arrived!, October 26, 2005
By Sprite Marie (North Dakota) - See all my reviews
I first saw this camera on the Kodak website and I could hardly wait for it to be available. I admit that the camera is a bit over priced, especially for a 4 megapixel camera. Still, I think the features are really neat. I think part of the high price is because it has a touch screen but I really like that it rotates. Also, since I live in North Dakota and my sister lives in Texas, it's great that I can send her pictures with just a touch of a button. It's also great how the camera organizes your pictures and videos. Over all, I think I got a pretty good deal on the price. Kodak's website offered it with free shipping and handling, an included Wi-Fi card, a free picture viewer(a $100 value), and %10 off accessories. I only have a few regrets about getting this camera, it's quite heavy and it is a lot of new technology to learn at one time. Other than that, I'm looking forward to taking many more great pictures with it!

4.0 out of 5 stars HiTech Camera - Great Price Now, March 21, 2006
By Ivan Morales "Ivan M" (College Station, Texas United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I'd seen this camera last year 2005 and thought it was horridly overpriced. Last month I visited Circuit City and saw it for $299 ($399 + $100 rebate). I've had a month with the camera and have mostly praise and a few gripes.

Pros:
Wi-fi Sharing - Instantly use my wifi to share (e-mail,print)
LCD - Huge fold out screen (3")
256 MB - Enough that I didnt have to buy a card w/ the camera
2 Batteries + Charger - Does have short battery life but dual batteries and charger make up for it. You don't have to keep your camera plugged in to keep use it. Just plug in Battery #2 and charge Battery #1 ... you could go forever!
Leather Case - Nice Touch

Cons:
Kinda Heavy - My girlfriend needs to use two hands to be able to steady it
Wi-fi was difficult to setup - I'm pretty tech savy and it was still a pain in the butt to configure
Battery Life
Kodak Sharing - I wish i could set up my own SMTP

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't judge a camera just by it's price!, October 31, 2005
There are 6 and 7MP cameras that are selling for $300 or even less. The truth is, pixel quantity is just one feature to consider and not the most important feature either. How many of us are going to make prints larger than 8.5x11? Unless there is an issue with extreme cropping resulting in a large loss of pixels or very big enlargements, a 4MP camera is more than adequate. Also, faster processing and being able to store more images on media is a big plus.
The Kodak EasyShare One is extremely pleasant to use and has a very nice set of features. One that stands out is the ability to crop a photo right on the camera and save it that way! (make it nice and toss the original.) Organizing photos is also a nice feature.
Best of all, it takes really good photos. I also have a canon D50 digital SLR which I use when I want to get "artsy", but you can't beat the EasyShare for carrying around and taking snapshots. It's nice and small and when folded, the lens and LCD is completely protected from sctatches, dirt and fingerprints. Speaking of the LCD, it's a full 3 inches which is just really nice. You can see it in the direct sun pretty good too.
I've used the WiFi for printing to a Kodak EasyShare printer dock with no problems. I have not done anything else with WiFi yet, so I can't comment.
Quality is superb (a little heavy but a good feel to it).
As far as comments by other reviewers as far as price, all I can say is "you get what you pay for!"
