Product Description

Product Description
This Acoustic Guitar is 38 inches in length. It has Linden Binding and wood construction with geared tuning. Each Guitar comes with a full set of extra strings, pick, tuner, gig bag, and two decal pick guards. The Acoustic Guitar is perhaps the most versatile and common guitar type. This Guitar has a loud, bright ringing tone that clearly projects to the listener, and is the backbone of most country and bluegrass bands. It's perfect for backing a singer and its stylistic palette encompasses everything from New Age and Country Blues, to hot Bluegrass Flatpicking, Jazz Fusion and "Unplugged" Rock. The tuning pegs are made of brass and steel for easy tuning and to keep the tuned string held in position. This Guitar also makes a great gift!

4.0 out of 5 stars A beginners' bargain..., January 10, 2006
I was interested in learning to play guitar and was looking for an inexpensive item to begin with. If you or your kids are the type of people who (like me) would want to play around with things before actually going in for an expensive equivalent, this is a guitar you can start with. Particularly for kids who are crazy about guitars, but who are playful enough to break things within days of buying new equipment (I have broken a lot of things when I was young), this is a good buy. The guitar is light and the sound, good (it needs tuning). It comes with a carry bag, extra strings, Linden binding, a plastic pick, and a good-sounding pitch pipe (for tuning the guitar). The pitch pipe tuner has to be blown into,(it looks like a mouth-organ or harmonica), to hear the sound you would get when you strum the guitar in 1E, 2B, 3G, 4D, 5A, and 6E, so that you can tune each string. At first, it would be hard for the beginner to tune the guitar to the sound of the pipe, but hey, we all learn things right? It also comes with a nylon strap to hold the guitar to the shoulders from around the body.

Good guitars are expensive (and they are worth it), but for a beginning, just to see if our enthusiasm will hold, this is a good guitar. I would recommend this for beginners and other enthusiasts who just want to see for themselves how things work (like our science students who want to learn the basics of sound, and would want to do things rather than just read about them from the books).

4.0 out of 5 stars Gift to my 7 yr old, October 25, 2005
By veeleetre (Wisconsin, United States) - See all my reviews
My mother-in-law bought this guitar for my daughter's 7th birthday. She totally loves it. It even takes a beating from my 2 & 4 yr olds. Read other reviews, haven't had any of this issues. I recommend this one!

2.0 out of 5 stars You Get What You Pay For, May 25, 2005
Overall, I was very disappointed in this item; there's a reason it's such a cheap price and they're trying to get rid of them. It's a smaller guitar than I expected, and the strings are poor quality nylon -- the 1E string snapped on me as I was tuning it, five minutes out of the box. Also, because it doesn't have a trust board, you can't restring it steel strings. The "tuner" it comes with is just a pitch pipe (with a tinny sound at that), and the other "accessories" aren't as great an added advantage as you'd think. Personally, I returned this after the string snapped on me. I'd recommend this guitar only if you're an absolute beginner, and even then, you'd probably want to learn on something a little more durable than this.

I am a beginner and bought this to try out my hand at guitar. So I wanted something cheaper to begin with. What I don't like is that I can't get it in tune.
