More heat from Ro and Mike Dean, May 1, 2005
This new LP from Z-Ro is heat. If you like "Life of Joseph P. .." you will be impressed. The production value sounds better and the vibe is more upbeat than the last one which was real heavy and emotional. Some songs, like the song with Ashanti, are not good, but when Z-Ro works with Mike Dean the result is always dope. These two have a good chemsitry because Mike Deans sound is real melodic and Z-Ro has a good singing voice for the hooks. He sings a bit like Isaac Hayes. Overall I don't think the material is as solid end to end musically as the last album, but it has a better sounding lower end; I think they paid more attention to the mastering this time. He has a rap style similar to a mix of Bun B and Tupac, he can spit. Z-Ro went to jail shortly after the last album came out and he didn't get a chance to promote it right. This album has songs that will probably appeal to a wider audience and it will be good to see Z-Ro get the respect he deserves

Z-ro is a hot Houston Cat so get the album if you recognize real, July 12, 2006
Look this cd is tight. This cat isn't like Paul Wall, who raps about having diamonds in his bookers or chain so long kids can jump rope with it. Yall stop buying rap that is garbage and pick up a real cd and support real rappers. Yall listen to too much commerical stuff and think most of it is hip hop. It is hip not so if you are real then you recognize real. If you are not then keep buying the Dike Jones, Paul Wall, and Cowboy Troy or whatever that cat name is. If a rapper has to be wack to have people support his album then I might come out with as a rapper knowing that people like yall who don't know hip hop would make me rich. I would be rapping about having gold toliet seats and carrots like Bugs Bunny. Well, anyways yall get the picture this cat is real so listen to the cd it is tight.

hit em with the Mule, July 29, 2005
Z-Ro is tight...He can sing and rap, without bein laughed at...and that's an accomplishment already...I don't know a whole lot else about him other than the fact that he's from Houston and down with Lil Flip.
1. Mo City Don freestyle - A nice freestyle over a Eric B. and Rakim sample. 4/5
2. The Mule - This song is so tight. Z-Ro and Juvenile both spit fire...but Devin's verse is hilarious...This song was half the reason i bought this in the first place. 6/5!
3. Don't Wanna Hurt Nobdy - Catchy hook features Trae and some other guy i don't know. Everyone drops nice rhymes and the beat is catchy, but I really just like singin the hook. 4.5/5
4. Platinum - Z-Ro is pretty good at singin hooks...He's no biz Markie or anything, he has a nice voice....the hook once againi is tight "goin platinum this time..." Has a nice feel to this one. 4.5/5
5. It Don't stop - I can tell Z-Ro is still underground by the beat. While it gets him by, its kinda amatuerish. But Z-Ro comes correct so 3.5/5
6.I'm A Soldier - I really like this one...it has these guitars on it that sound tight. He goes hard on it, and the hook, of course, is nice. 4.5/5
7. 1 night - Kanye West soundin sample...with beats like this to spit over, Z-Ro is on top...this is a dead homies type of song...we've heard the subject, but Z-ro makes it sound fresh. Z-Ro flows quick on this, it woulda been nice to hear twista on this track with him, but its not like he needs him this is an ill track. 5/5
8. Help Me Please - Another good song with a good message. not stellar but good. 4/5
9. Another song - Z-ro apoligizes for not makin dance or feel good music, then proceeds to spit fire over a pretty nice beat, and (you guessed it) another nice hook sung by z-ro himself. 4/5
10. Everyday, samethang - slow, but nice track...not for dancin but a nice listen 3.5/5
11. The Same One - simply ok 2.5/5
12. 1st Time Again - samples the F*** Faces beat and features Ashanti...I really didn't like this song at first b/c it wasnt near as tight as the original song, but then I really started to like it. 4/5
13. The other reason I bought this cd... Has that recorded and looped hook like so many other songs...but it is so ill though....On point features by Lil Flip and Paul Wall, along with nice, twista-like verses by z-ro. I played this song like 6 times in a row when i first opened this cd and listened to it in my car...7/5
14. Respect My Mind- We've heard that phrase a lot, but this song is still really nice. Slow beat that akes you wanna nod your head.
15. Ride 2nite - has a decent knock to it....3.5/5
16. Auntie and Grandma - Pretty good dedication type song...3.5/5
17. It's A shame - Like this one too....3.5/5
Overall: 4 stars b/c almost every song is really nice....I didn't really even wanna skip any songs...even the songs i didnt give a lotta props to were definitely worth more than a few listens. It's worth the money...so why not cop?
