4.0 out of 5 stars Enter..., November 8, 2007
..the labyrinth of moods, sounds, murk, doom, violence created by Swedish noise crew of Abandon. This album has so many twists and turns that the only comparison i can make is a maze or labyrinth filled with gloom and doom. The guitar tone is very hostile, creating a mood of paranoia and fear. The bass is so murky and muddy that one could picture playing rubber bands instead of strings. This tone is used alone in places throughout the album. The drums hold well going from tribal sludge type pounding to aggressive death metal. The vocals are dual which is awesome. The soul vocalist uses a tortured and hopeless scream while the bassist uses a more angry lower tone. Swirl all of this into a vat of abomination and sit back and hate. The album is best digested in one sitting due to the fact that the songs run together and create a very powerful mood. I was going to list songs that are good on the album but I realized that listening to the entire album is the only way to experience ABANDON. Although, I will mention Piles of Pigs is a one-minute chop to the throat and punch to the face that forces the listener to pay attention if one is not already caught in to web of this album. I guess that my album is a reissue because of the bonus 15-minute track of repetition which brings the album down a level for me. If you enjoy downer music (sludge, doom, crust, death metal, ect. ect. ect.) buy this album and drown in the down. \m/

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not great., January 24, 2009
This is a good cd but I think it would have been better if it had cleaner vocals thats just my opinion.
