Ablum rocks so expertly and so convincingly, that it seems a minor miracle that the team of wild canucks responsible for recording it concentrated their efforts on the oft-overlooked kids' market. This-side-of-disgusting song titles like "Pooing and Peeing" provide a peek into a generally very funny lyrical style. Singing is hit or miss, with Duplex's female lead channeling a less wholesome Laurie Berkner, and its male crooner calling to mind Ray Davies in stronger moments. Because there's no warning label on the cover, you heard it here first: May cause an outbreak of mohawks among 6-year-olds. --Tammy La Gorce

Whether you are three years old or eighty you will find yourself first tapping your toes then clapping your hands and finally dancing with a big grin on your face while listening to this c.d.
It is rollicking and unpretentious, and sings about everyday things that all ages but especially children will easily identify with.

This is not your typical kids music release by any means: essentially quirky indie-rock with lyrics suitable for little ones. In others words: FINALLY!!! Where has this ablum been all these years?! If you are a mom/dad, enjoy alternative or independent pop/rock music, then go buy this! It is a blast-from silly little ditties, to full out rock songs, it's a great way to expose your kids to some music that has real passion, and provides an alternative to all that mass-marketed crap in all the record stores.

Favorites (among kids and parents in our home):
Mr. slim, Figure 8 (a schoolhouse rocks cover!), Hanu, and Camels in the Desert (but not canteloupes!!).

Get this for your kids-it's awesome.

We make a little music "just for fun" in our house, and Ablum is a welcome adddition. The 4-year-old can be a little resistant to new music--he knows what he likes and likes what he knows--but he was requesting his favorite tracks the first day.
