Harlem Zip Code consists of Tony Free and Merlin Garnett. The pair met in summer of 1996 and quickly established themselves as a song writing and production team. Their first single for Manchester’s paperecordings label, "125th Street" was well received by all and even had a few people breaking sweat on the disco floor.
As well as appreciating the vagaries of house music, Tony & Merlin also like to experiment with all kinds of crazy beats, ideas and concepts as Colour World Soul shows, including tracks featuring Basement Jaxx voice Corrina Joseph, Beverly T. (of Supakings and Zed Bias fame), and David Holmes collaborator Chris Hawkins to name but a few. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
