Editorial Reviews

About the Artist
David was brought up and surrounded by music his whole life. His father was a recording artist in the 60's "Emil Spak And The Encores" and with a couple hits of his own, was ultimately inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Following high school, David went to Boston and attended Berklee College of Music where he gained his formal music education. One day at the studio, a producer heard about David’s skills as a percussionist and asked him to play on a couple tracks but only had one hour. Not having any musical instruments with him and no time to get them David improvised. Using materials he found around the studio, he made the most of this one time opportunity to showcase his talent. So within an hour, he produced out of rocks, hammers, metal and building materials he found in and around the studio, a sound design recording that impressed the producer and thus began his career in Nashville. This makeshift recording session demonstrated beyond doubt that David’s music came from within and was the launch pad for what would become an exciting and dynamic journey as a professional musician. From those humble beginnings David’s career has exploded into a spectrum of musical expression. His accomplishments include touring on the concert stage (averaging 150 shows a year) with prominent artists such as Blake Shelton, Mindy McCready and Jill King. Recording with top names in the recording industry such as Multi-platinum R&B artist India Arie, Spike 100, Greenwheel, Liquid Gang, Mile and Tide Water Grain. Also lending his percussion and drumming talents to Hollywood soundtracks and compilations like Spiderman, Saving Silverman, Bamboozled, Return to the Rock and others. Unsurprisingly for someone who has drawn the confidence of such remarkable artists, David possesses an exciting treasure chest of talent and vision as a solo artist. He is a prolific and gifted songwriter and is known for using a creative and unconventional approach to recording, focusing on the tone, tambre and melody of the music. While working on projects in 2004, David had an opportunity to tour Asia and Europe, all of which had a big influence on his newest endeavor…his first solo album! David brings a new face and enthusiastic approach to music and is gaining new fans at each live performance and personal appearance. Like most great musicians the source of his musical power comes from his heart and from working with a wide array of exciting musicians who helped him define, develop and expand his style and abilities. “Although I had an unusual start in the business I am living my dream of being a working musician today. I am fortunate in that I’ve had the opportunities to work with a wide array of artists who have helped me expand my abilities and whose talents have greatly impacted my vision for the future and my own growth as a musician.” - David Spak

Product Description
Great straight-ahead adult contemporary songs! "The whole album is great" The first release "Who is she now" sounds like a combination of Bono singing with a production style from Seal and Peter Gabriel sitting behind the mixing board. Nice stuff!!
