Product Description

Prodigal Sunn, co-founder of the original Wu-Fam group Sunz of Man, spits fire and truth on his solo debut "Return of the Prodigal Sunn". P-Sunn has built a reputation as one of the more socially conscious and lyrically deep artists associated with the Wu. The new album is a snapshot of the ebb and flow of life itself. Uplifting tracks like "Movin' On Up" (produced by B-Original), "Reach Out" and "Love Is Love" (produced by K-Beats) are wrapped in the darkness of "Brutality" (produced by RZA), "Procrastinators" (produced by J.Wells) and "Betrayal". The album features appearances from O.D.B's brother 12 O'Clock, 60 Second Assassin, Chi-King, Yung Masta, A&R, Madame Dee and C.C.F. Division.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good music from the Wu Camp, June 27, 2005
Its ya boy Mikado-Gizzle unoffical wu-tang affiliate. P-Sunn is a veteran rapper that still has the hunger that a cassidy brings. Its rare to see that in an artist. This album has a few tracks produced by Rza that bring out P-sunn's voice. The album never really falls off anywhere. Its a typical thought provoking album from the Wu. Alot of you young cats dont respect what the Wu has done for hip hop and what they continue to do. Leave the wack ass Gucci Mane and Boyz in da Hood Cds alone and pick up real hip hop and listen to it. P-Sunn can out rap any o these southers rappers but he gets no love from the 21 and under crowd. SUPPORT THE PEOPLE WHO DESERVE IT!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Prodigal Sunn- The Return of the Prodigal Sunn , July 15, 2005

(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
Prodigal Sunn debut album is "The Return of the Prodigal Sunn" (2005). This album quietly dropped last month getting very little attention and is bound to be slept on. I only recently got into Sunz of Man related MC's copping Hell Razah & 4th Disciple's "Freedom of Speech" last year. Prodigal Sunn spends no time with introductions, opening the album up with "In My Life" an outstanding track where Prodigal, 12 O'Clock, Chi-King and Madamme Dee shine. Prodigal follows this up with the fast paced "Soul Survivor", a track which has this reviewer nodding, feeling Prodigal's lyrics and chorus. Things only get better when Prodigal Sunn & Madamme Dee collab for the inspirational "Movin On Up", an upbeat track about overcoming and coming out on top. Prodigal then flips the format delivering a grimy cut with "The Grinds" (Remix) feat. C.C.F. Division. Midway a number of tracks follow, there average, I feel that Prodigal could have done without the guest appearances on them as none of these MC's can compare with Prodigal and bring down the album for me some. The album really picks up again for me with "Godz People", Prodigal, A & R and 60 Second Assassin, provide a memorable cut. Prodigal and Madamme Dee clearly have musical chemistry, they show it again on "Reach Out" a laidback cut, where Prodigal drops some on point rhymes. "Love is Love" feat. Aleksei, has Prodigal appreciating the inner beauty of a special women. Prodigal closes his album off on a strong note, collabing with Madamme Dee and Scotty for the smooth "Sunshine". Prodigal Sunn provides a substantial album with "The Return of the Prodigal Sunn", one which I recommend people check out, there's no point in sleeping on quality music. 3.5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good disc, September 13, 2006
By J. Smith "DivineJoy" (Oklahoma City, OK United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Good hip hop with lyrics over and beyond what was expected. Prodigal Sunn talks about things others don't - Procrastinating, being Puzzled in life, living as Godz People, plus more. Another good, quality CD from the Wu family.
