This here is the "ILLEST" Eric B & Rakim compilation to date. All of there classic hits have been re-mastered for superior sound quality, plus the remixes (not detailed on the trk. listing) make this a must have for all Eric B & Rakim and true Hip-Hop fans alike. I'll detail the the remixed tracks for you; trk.4- "PAID IN FULL" (7 min. of madness-the coldcut remix) 10/10. This is the version used for there classic video and previousley released on "The Platinum Edition". Trk.5- "MY MELODY" (clean orig. version) 10/10. Trk.9- "PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER" (fon force mix) 10/10. This re-mix is off the hook!! Trk.10- "THE R" (remix edit.) 10/10. Off the hook as well! Disc two, trk.1 "LET THE RYTHM HIT'EM" (clean UPSO mix) 9/10. Dope! trk.2- "NO OMEGA" (extended remix) 9/10. Dope, as well. Trk.3 "IN THE GHETTO" (extended mix) 9/10. HOT! Trk.10- "CASUALTIES OF WAR" (radical radio edit.) 8/10.

A Kid's Review
"Gold" is the best compilation of Eric B. and Rakim hits right now. Other compilations usually omit a song or two, but this album has all the hits on here. Like the other reviewer said, it has the remixes which is a definate plus. Another song I'm happy that is on here is "What's On Your Mind" which was on the House Party 2 soundtrack. It's a great song and I'm glad it's on here. Pick this one up, you won't regret it.

if you are wondering what the hype and what the fuss is over Rakim on the Mic then this is the spot fo ryou start and listen. these are the classics on the Mic that Made Rakim te King of the Mic. the Production was ill and the flow and word play still leaves a jaw dropped and out of socket. this is the compilation to get when it comes to Eric B and Rakim. still waiting on Rakim to come on back and take the Mic back Proper.
