4.0 out of 5 stars Bringing back good ol' country rock..., November 2, 2006
Giving off the feeling of standing in a smoky bar with a beer in one hand and a cigarette hanging from your lips, `I Trust You to Kill Me' is the perfect music to get drunk and play pool to. With an almost bluegrass sound at times coupled with rock roots and guitar work that impossible to typecast, Rocco Deluca & the Burden may not have created the perfect musical experience, but they came pretty close.

Song's like `Dope' and `Swing Low' give us the steel guitar country rock roots that makes a bar feel like home, while the maturity and melodic grace of tracks like the beautiful `Busride' (my favorite track here) and `Mystified' almost place Rocco at a completely different level. And yet again he hits another chord with tracks like 'Gravitate' and 'Soul' with the pure rock atmospere he creates. An experience to enjoy from start to finish, `I Trust You to Kill Me' is an album we should all give a chance. If the opener `Gift' doesn't grab you then `Dope' should.

The hidden track `Dillon' is soft and simple while `Daybreaker' sounds like good old fashioned country rock. Any fan of the glory days of `Sweet Home Alabama' and the like are sure to enjoy every track on this glorious effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best of the Year, July 21, 2006

I met Rocco at a party and he seemed like a cool enough guy, but I wasn't sure I was going to dig his sound. I needn't have worried as everything he has going for him works beautifully and is showcased in "I Trust You To Kill Me." Every track works and the succession of songs keep building in an artful, unpretentious way that keeps one's attention throughout.

The guitarwork here is really impressive and, wedded to the light, but intense sound of his voice, this album should make Rocco a household name.

Get it while it's cheap friends!

Can't recommend this one enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocco Rocks are Diamonds!, May 20, 2005
By Kee Whitefeather "Kee" (Lakewood, California) - See all my reviews
Thank God Music isn't dead; I was beginning to despair that my declining years would be spent in agony listening to dull blasting beats from britney-spear-clones and repetitive violent gangsta-raps...then along comes Ironworks Music to Save the Century of new rock!
Jude Cole's delivering Rocco into our arms to hold close and savor his heart-felt melodies made me want to weep and dance for joy at the same time--Real Music, to continue singing a kinship to the Soul of good people everywhere! I look forward to more of Jude Cole, Rocco, and Ironworks Music!!
