Our wood yoga blocks are made from rosewood, a beautiful hardwood from the Shisham tree in India. The blocks are a rich, dark brown, with the grain clearly visible in each block. The edges on all blocks are beveled for added comfort. These blocks are available in either solid or hollow style. The solid blocks are a single piece of dense hardwood, and have a very solid feel to them. The hollow blocks are made from multiple pieces of the same rosewood, carefully glued together to form a hollow block. Some practitioners prefer the hollow blocks because they are lighter, while others prefer the dense, heavy feel of the solid blocks. Each Indian Rosewood Yoga Block is 6'' by 9'' and comes in either 3'' or 4'' height.

This Indian Rosewood Block is excellent. Its grainy wood texture is beautiful, and looks great in my home yoga studio. I ordered 2 of them so I could have a pair. These blocks are the perfect size, and are also a nice weight. Whenever my friends come over to practice at my studio, they always complement these blocks and I refer them to order them online for themselves.

First of all, the block may be solid, but not solid wood. It is hollow and made out of plywood. Secondly, it may look good in your home studio, but the top (smallest) facet caved in after 2 weeks of practice. So, if you are ordering it for decoration, it will serve the purpose.

Drishti was a wonderful company to order from. The order was received in a timely fashion and in perfect condition. This is a feat since I live in Mexico and mail is less than perfect here. The block is beautifully made and I look forward to using it.
