My great experience with iMemoryBook, January 12, 2006
When I turned 18 my mom gave me a stack of papers. It was a baby journal that she had kept from the time that I was born until I was 15. After hearing about iMemoryBook and what it could do, I got the idea to turn my baby journal into a hardbound book and include photos of me from the same time period. It would be the perfect Christmas present for my mom! I scanned over 300 journal entries and typed each and every one. Somehow I convinced my mom to write captions on the backs of all the photos without divulging her surprise. Then I scanned them all into the computer and uploaded them to iMemoryBook. The book ended up being over 350 pages long!
I didn't think iMemoryBook could accomplish the vision I had in mind, but they proved me wrong. The book is more beautiful than I ever imagined. My mom cried her eyes out Christmas morning when she opened her book, which is exactly what I wanted. She even took it to church and showed all her friends. A few days after Christmas my dad approached me and said, "Next time you decide to steal Christmas, let me know in advance so that I know not to buy Mom an expensive ring..."
The cons:
●I wanted the pictures to be bigger but they couldn't because of the margins that are set up for text.
The pros:
●It is the only system that I know of that can easily bind a book larger than 50 pages.
●Technical service was exceptional. Any bugs or problems I found in the system were taken care of immediately.
●I actually know how to make and bind books by hand and am the assistant editor of Paper Trends (a well-known scrapbooking magazine), therefore I consider myself somewhat an expert in the field of making books. The quality of my book was premium, I was completely satisfied with the final product.
●There are plenty of options in customizing your book. I had a die cut made in the front with a leather cover. I could have had a laminate cover or they even have an artist that will create a cover for you for a set price.
●The most competitive printing prices I have found.
●The system is simple and easy to use.
●My book is online and stored. If my original gets destroyed I can print it again in 10 business days.
Conclusion:
I have yet to find another system that can compare with iMemoryBook. I will treasure this baby journal, turned autobiography, forever. I highly recommend the services FamilyLearn provides.

Its addictive, January 13, 2006
Last month my roommate got married. I was trying to decide what to give him for his wedding present. After seeing iMemoryBook I came up with a great idea. I convinced Derek and Wendy to write "He said...She said" stories about the way they met and the way they got engaged. Then using iMemoryBook's invitation system I sent invitations to all of his family and friends, in Utah, and all of her family and friends, in California. Then I watched the book grow online for three months. I was amazed at how smoothly this book grew with the iMemoryBook system. Over 70 people got online, viewed and contributed to the book. The final book had over 200 photos, 75 entries(memories), and 100+ pages, iMemoryBook has helped me create something I wouldn't have even imagined possible.
My Evaluation: iMemoryBook's invitation system sets it apart from any other system or service available to my knowledge. It made it easy for me to compile a huge project in relatively little time. It goes above and beyond any of the little photo book publishers because it is not just about photos but the history behind the photos to my understanding you can publish 600+ page books! The quality of the hardbound books look just like you checked them out of the library. The typesetting program they have created does a beautiful job. I did find some small quirky things about the system, but customer service made up for that. And watching the book grow day by day was so exciting that I spent way more time reading what others wrote than I did even working on the project. Also there is a great little "book price calculator" on the website so that you are never suprised by the final cost.
Most of all I am excited to know that someday Derek and Wendy's kids are going to be able to read these stories and learn some great, funny, and even embarrassing things about their parents.
