5.0 out of 5 stars Best Album of 2005, April 4, 2006
By Jaeyn (Atlanta, Ga) - See all my reviews
This album has sixteen amazing tracks that each stand alone. But in my opinion, the album is an experience and every song flows together beautifully.

From What I Once Was- 9/10- This song has great piano and very good lyrics. Daniel Victor's voice is not the best on this album but he sounds great. A good track to start the album.

Angels & Saints- 8/10- I really like the music in this song, the drums especially. Chris Gadon's voice reminds me of Thom Yorke's (Radiohead), without sounding too much like him.

Age of Consent-10/10- A great cover of a great song. One of the more upbeat songs here, sung by 311's Nick Hexum. Nick's voice is great on this track, and it sounds nothing like 311's music. The perfect song to sing along to while driving with the windows down.

Ending of a Story-10/10- This song is, in one word, epic. Chris Gray has the kind of voice that gives you chills and the music and background vocals accompany him very well. The song features one of my favorite lyrics: 'And in the end, I'll die and you'll descend'

Return Our Lives-9/10- This song sounds a little electronic and the music is a bit repetitive. The chours is also repetitive and the song drags at the end a little too long. If it wasn't for that, the song would get 10 out of 10. But on the other hand, Judah Nagler's voice is refreshingly original and steals the song away from the music. I do love the way the song ends, with just his voice.

I Hope Your Heart Runs Empty-10/10- This is my favorite song on this album. It has some of the best lyrics on here, sung to perfection by Scott Anderson of Finger Eleven. He has a starkness to his voice that is so breathtaking you don't even notice the music behind it.

A Littlepiece- 10/10- My second favorite song. In my opinion, the best lyrics I have ever heard and very good music backing them. Marco Difelice's voice stands out above all the rest on the album and he delivers the song beautifully.

This Longing-10/10- I really love this song, mostly because I can personally relate to the lyrics. This is the type of song that is meant to be heard with headphones on and with your eyes closed. The ending is especially well done, with the background vocals converging seamlessly with Daniel Greaves'. I love the music on this track, it is probably the best on the album.

Of All The Things You've Done Wrong- 10/10- A shorter but brilliant song that makes me want to cry every time I hear it because the lyrics remind me of war. Nathan Larson's voice is incredible and absolutely breathtaking.

Tired Of Saving Souls-9/10- Another 'upbeat' track. This song has a great flow to it, and good music. John Campsey has an impressive vocal range that shines above the rest of the song.

How Could I Survive-9/10- The shortest song on the album. The song has a really great beat and good lyrics. Another good song for driving. Sharky Laguana has a unique voice that makes this song stand out.

The Grace- 10/10- What can I even say about this song? Words really can't convey it, you really just have to hear it. This is the song that introduced me to NWL and for months it was the only song I'd listen to, without giving the others a chance. It is that good. Dallas Green's voice is hands down the best on the album, the lyrics are meaningful and the music is amazing. Just hear it.

First Days of Spring- 10/10- Another epic track, this one featuring Hum's Matt Talbot. The music stands out on this song more than any other track on the album but it doesn't overpower the vocals.

Liar- 10/10- A well written song that I can relate to personally. Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace sings with more passion on this track than anything OLP has ever done. His voice is impressive as always, and he has one of the best vocal ranges I've ever heard.

Life Is A Dead Scene- 10/10- I love the lyrics to this song, and Todd Kerns' voice is stunning. I still get chills every time I hear this song.

Our Final Hymn- 10/10- This song is very good, but I have to admit I was disappointed. Jimmy Gnecco's vocal range is underused on the track, alot more so than it is on Ours' albums. His voice really is amazing but you would never know it from this song. It is still a very good song, though, with good lyrics. The music doesn't really fit the lyrics, though. It get's 10 out of 10 for Jimmy Gnecco alone.

Overall, this album is incredible and I highly, highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates well written music and a wide variety of stunning vocalists.

5.0 out of 5 stars Utterly Ethereal, March 30, 2006
I was first introduced to Neverending White Lights when my favorite radio station (89X in Detroit) started playing "The Grace." Well I absolutely fell in love with that song so I took a chance on the CD which ended up being pretty expensive due to its obscurity. But the cost was COMPLETELY worth it! I just got it yesterday and I've already listened to it at least a dozen times. The music is truly beautiful and each song seems to add a unique yet complimentary hue to the album as a whole. If you love well-written and well-crafted music and enjoy being able to listen to an entire CD without skipping tracks, this is definitely a must have album!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally an Album that's good from beginning to end.........., January 15, 2006
By M. Ureel (Dryden, Mi) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
In today's music world, when you buy a CD, you buy it for the one or two songs you've heard on the radio, and you hope and pray that the rest of the CD has at least one song that you'll like. Hence the reason why downloading is becoming much more popular. Because this cd is an import and they don't have it available on WalMart, I took a chance and bought it. I had heard "Age of Consent" and "The Grace" on the local Detroit radio station, and loved both songs. The CD is a compliation of various lead vocalists with the actual music created by Windsor native, Daniel Victor. It's one of those cds where you can listen from the beginning to the end and not have to skip through anything. When you buy it, I recommend playing it on a long car drive or through a study session. Although, each song has a different vocalists, each song blends in with the next. Each song does have its uniqueness and its own sound. It's one of those cds in which there isn't one popular song on it, each listener will have their favorite song.
This CD is also not radio friendly, what I mean is is that you won't be seeing any music video on MTV or VH1 anytime soon, it's different than the commericially driven music of today's generation. It's not one of those CDs you buy for one track. It's one of those albums that you will fall in love with and want to share with your friends. I highly recommend that you take a listen to the samples, and if you enjoy this type of genre, to buy it.
