Product Description
HMHB have been playing some of these songs live for a while now. Everyone is a gem, as you'd expect from the boys from the Wirral. With such underwhelming titles as 'Joy Diviison Oven Gloves' you know you're onto a winner. To say that HMHB take the pith out of the rounded orange that it is pop is a truism, but one well worth repeating. Listen, learn and laugh. Sheer indie craft at it's best. Probe Plus. 2005.

Okay, I'm not English, so half of the references these guys make in their songs are totally lost on me. But it doesn't matter! Their music is that rare combination of highly amusing yet incredibly catchy songwriting that only a few are able to accomplish -- early Jonathan Richman and Butterscott spring to mind.

Don't get me wrong -- these are not novelty songs. They're actually deeply satirical, biting songs that also have awesome tunes to back them up. And it's one of those great CD's that has at least 5 great songs on it. It brings me back to some early punk records that have a real driving energy throughout the whole thing.

I gather these guys have been around for years. But I just discovered them now. And my life is 2% better because of them.
