Technical Details

  • This kit is recommended for the following cameras: Canon D30, D60, 10D, 20D, 300D, Digital Rebel & XT. Konica-Minolta Maxxum 7D Nikon D1, D1x, D1h, D2h, D70 & D100 (D2x, D50 & D70s Can use either 1.6x or 1.3x) Fujifilm S2 Pro & S3 Pro. Pentax *ist D, *istDS & *istDL. Sigma SD9 & SD10 Olympus E Series
  • Friction Resistant - using the proper technique during processing one can change the friction resistance of the brush fibers. Therefore determining how much residue is left on the sensor by various polymers. Neither of these processes will change the appearance of the brush.
  • Curing - Is done to prevent the residual stain left behind with most polymers. This is achieved using high-temperature baking and/or chemical and radiation techniques.
  • Fiber Thickness - Sensor Brush is made of the thinnest possible fibers. They are quite resilient in texture and several times thinner than a human hair and are 30-40% thinner than most consumer fibers.
  • Flow thru - Sensor Brush is designed to have the optimal fiber density concentration allowing the dust crystals to pass through without resistance.

Product Description

Product Description

This kit includes two special cleaning brushes for your sensor, the 16mm Sensor Brush, and the 16mm SBF Brush. In order for the Sensor Brush to be more effective, the net charges on the filament are enhanced greatly using unique technology. During polymerization of polymers, one can add certain elements to enhance these charges. Another technique is to use a cross-linking technique or a gas chamber to add these extra molecules to enhance the net charges on the fibers. With these extra charges one can increase the safety value of the brush and ultimately the cleaning efficiencies. Neither of these processes will change the appearance of the brush. VisibleDust is a Canadian Company which uses its knowledge of biochip technology to advance the science of removing dust from the surface of delicate objects. Attracting protein and DNA to the glass-like surface of a biochip for attachment requires special preparation of that surface. Because dust has many common characteristics with DNA, their products are able to utilize that same technology. 3000 Sensor Brush cleanings (10,000 brush strokes) plus 1000 Sensor Clean cleanings were applied to a test camera's sensor. This is the equivalent of 10 years of EVERY DAY CLEANING using the Sensor Brush and Sensor Clean. SAFETY: if the test camera can withstand this test, then yours can too! ECONOMY: 3000 cleanings is the cheapest cost-per-cleaning on the market! NEVER ATTEMPT TO CLEAN YOUR CHAMBER WITH MIC

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Situation:
I am not a professional by any means when it comes to photography or even taking care of my cameras. However, I do try my best to learn the proper way to care and take photos as best as I can.

Problem:
When I started to see speckles on my digital shots, I began to read from the Internet sites what was wrong with my camera. I thought with age, the specks will show. Sort of like fog on glasses. Anyway, I read articles regarding dirty sensors; how to detect if you have a dirty sensor and how to clean the sensor. The more I read, the more concerned I became because of how easy it is to screw up the sensor when cleaning.

Convincing:
For over a month, I hesitated before buying these brushes. I learned that if you take your camera to a professional shop, they will charge you anywhere from $50 to $75 to clean your sensor. I also learned that you can send your camera back to the company, they camera company will clean the sensor for you for free. However, you give your camera from anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks.

Solution:
I couldn't be without my camera that long. So with great deal of thought, I decided to take the plunge and get these brushes. Long story; short? I am glad I did buy the brushes. There were no instructions shipped with the brushes on how to clean the sensors, so I downloaded the instructions on how to clean the sensor for my particular cameras and then I read the instructions very carefully.

Process:
After two lightly swipes over the sensor, all of the debris had been removed. I turned the camera upside down, and gave it a blast with the air blaster and guess what? I am so pleased I got these brushes, because the hand air-blaster did not do the trick.

Results:
After the cleaning process was completed, I set up the camera to verify the specks were removed. The test images were clean of all debris. It was like having a new camera again.

Final remarks:
Now, I will enjoy my cameras once again. At this time of writing this review, Amazon does not have any more brushes listed that are from this company. If you have specks or dark spots and you have tried the air blaster and it isn't doing the job; I would spend the $90 bucks for these sensor brushes. I have read in many articles from the net that even if you did send your camera back to the company, there is a good chance; your camera will be return with the sensor in worst condition. That's the part that convinced me to buy the brushes.

So now it is up to you, but if either way, if you send the camera to the company or if you clean the sensor yourself; if you screw up your sensor, it will nearly cost as new camera to repair and if the company screws up your sensor, you are still responsible for the repairs. Learn how to clean your sensors carefully. Seriously!
