Product Description
Media Artist Scott Snibbe creates pioneering installation artwork in which the viewer becomes an active participant. This DVD documents his interactive works from 1995 through 2005. These works use video projection, computer graphics, and wind to react to viewers' bodies as they move through the work. The DVD begins with Deep Walls (2003), a work that records viewers' shadows as they walk in front of a projection, and plays each shadows film back in one of an array of 16 projected rectangles. The DVD also features documentation of Snibbe's recent work, Blow Up (2004), which amplifies viewers' breath across a large array of industrial fans, and Boundary Functions (1998), his best known work, which projects moving lines between people that describe their personal space. The complete list of documented works on this DVD include: Deep Walls, 2003; Boundary Functions, 1998 Blow Up, 2005; Visceral Cinema: Chien, 2005; Compliant, 2002; Depletion, 2003; Concentration, 2003; Impression, 2003; Cause and Effect, 2004; Gravilux, 1998; Bubble Harp, 1997; Myrmegraph, 1999; Mirror, 2001; Circular Breathing, 2002; Its Out, 2001; Tripolar, 2002; Emptiness is Form, 2000; Near, 2004; You Are Here, 2004; Motion Phone, 1995; and Shy, 2003.
