Almost as good as Christmas Memories, July 24, 2008
Christmas Memories is the fragrence of choice; however, finding it off-season is difficult. This fragrence, however, is a worthy substitute when available. Claire Burke may have had manufacturing problems in the past or even today (I do not know) but when you can get it it is a super odor. It is not overpowering or invasive. It just smells good for our needs.

Smells like *home filled with love*....people WILL happily notice and enjoy :-), March 20, 2007
Somehow the Claire Burke people must have a secret ingredient in this stuff because they've managed to synthesize all the idealized niceties of *home* and put it in a bottle. Wrapped in a better quality type cinnamon and something else delicious, it radiates a wonderful, non-perfumey happy warmth of love, something yummy baking in the oven and a whole lot of "welcome.....we're glad to see you...stay awhile and do come back!"
We have two electric simmer pots (like mini-crock pots)that I use this with....one in the kitchen and one in the parlor. But I discovered this first years ago for use in the mental health counseling agency I ran and people LOVED it. As the personal fragrance industry has known forever, fragrance is very powerful and evocative of memories....good and not so great, and has the ability to change how you feel. No joke. For real.
When I first set this stuff simmering in our counseling agency, we got delighted, amazed phone calls from other offices in our building asking what on earth might we be baking, because the whole place smelled "heavenly". They loved it. NO one ever complained or has had any fragrance allergy issues with this fragrance. For years I've enjoyed watching people come through the door (whether into the waiting room of our counseling agency or the front door of our home)take a deep whif of the aroma around them and visibly relax into their chair. I continue to get compliments from those who are new to coming here, and phrases like "it always smells so WONDERFUL at your house" from those who return. When you work hard to make people feel comfortable and at ease in the lovely presentation of a nice home, this is very satisfying for a hostess!
Make no mistake, it's NOT a substitute for cleaning or keeping your cat box fresh:-)It wouldn't be a great addition to icky smells lurking around. So, yes, do clean. BUT, if you're wanting to subtly say to your guests "we're so glad you're here" for special events or a signature part of your home (as it has become with ours) and also personally experience the satisfaction of luscious home fragrance (it's a good thing for the hostess/host to relax also....don't forget to enjoy it just for youselves, too), this is a product worth the splurge of the price tag it costs. I suppose, after all, loving hospitality in a bottle might be considered more pricey than this.
One important rescuing note about the cleaning thing though. If you have last minute, sudden guests...no time to vacuum, certainly no time to dust, this is your instant remedy to *cover* many house-keeping issues. Just take a moment to heat up some of this amazing hospitality elixir and straighten up the magazines or toss other clutter in a closet (or under your sofa), put on a pot of coffee or tea, and I promise you. No one will notice anything other than your welcoming smile and this fragrance that says "relax...and make yourself at home....we're so glad you came!"

Aromathreraphy, August 20, 2006
The service was great. I used the oil in a regular room vaporizer to stimulate hunger for a post operative person. She and the staff at the hospital enjoyed the scent.
