Biography

The Black Eyed Peas are a LA-based group, formed by Will.i.am and Apl.de.ap, who achieved worldwide fame when they moved away from their early hip-hop sound towards commercial pop with 2003's Elephunk.

The pair originally got together in 1988 as the Atban Klann, playing the LA club circuit, but took the name Black Eyed Peas in 1995 as their music was ‘food for the soul’. The band had moderate… Read more in Amazon's Black Eyed Peas Store

1.0 out of 5 stars *beats head into keyboard*, February 18, 2006
By Shotgun Method (NY... No, not *that* NY) - See all my reviews
This is the Worst. Song. Ever.

"My humps, my lovely lady lumps?" WTF BBQ, people. I haven't heard a more exploitative, filthy, and totally unredeeming song yet. And the club-ready vapid beats are catchier than hell, of course, meaning that this audio abortion will stick in your head just long enough to ensure that you're in a straitjacket by the end of the week.

Man, I always knew The Black Eyed Peas were pathetic but I didn't realize their goal was to outsuck the Simpson Sisters, Hanson, N'Sync, Lil' John, Gwen Stefani and 50 Cent combined. Mission accomplished, gents. This makes me wanna die.

1.0 out of 5 stars The type of song that Eminem will prove his theory right., January 30, 2006
This is not much of a review. But I'm expressing my OPINION here:

When Eminem and all his fellow "dope" rappers degrade women, the words, "sl*t, whore" and all other words used to describe female promiscuity will inevitably pop up.

The fact that the female body is created in a manner, that it can be used as a tool of exploition, especially for sinful male pleasures, can't-help-but-to-glue-your-eyes-to-some-parts, distractions and other indecent uses, are being put together subtly into this song called "My Humps", preferably the main two body parts, on the back and the front.

My point is, SOME females are WILLING to be used as exploition, deliberately behaving in that manner, evoking feminine wiles to males who can't help it. That is one of the reasons why Eminem disses females (I think). The (sad) fact is, most females, most notably from the entertainment industry are similar to this taboo.

"My Humps", not only speaks of the female body parts, also speaks of how the female herself doesn't mind being used as exploition, from the lyrics:

I drive these brothers crazy,
I do it on the daily,
They treat me really nicely,
They buy me all these iceies.
Dolce & Gabbana,
Fendi and Donna Karan
they be sharin'
All their money got me wearin fly , whether I ain't askin,
They say they love my a$$ `n,
Seven Jeans, True Religion,
I say no, but they keep givin'
So I keep on takin'
And no I ain't takin'
We can keep on datin'
Now keep on demonstrating.

Yup, it means that as long as she gets rewarded for this (in terms of riches), she won't mind driving the lusty males crazy by treating them to a joke or two, using her assets only females have.

This song has a very catchy, infectious and foot-tapping beat. One can't help but bop along to the song. Such a shame the lyrics are shallow and attention-seeking. I can't tell if this song's lyrics are more repulsive than Pussycat dolls' "don't cha".

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible, January 21, 2006
I respect Will I am as a Producer even though the Fergie Era has been about doing anything to sound accessible&if you go back to the way the BEP was before then this version truly is well below.this song stanks period.Fergie sounds like a Broke Lisa Lisa. One of the Worst songs that I heard all of last year.
